I think it’s not a bad system… My issue is I did all forms of content last week 10+ raid bosses, 8 mythic+ dungeons and a ton of rated pvp. I got one piece from doing all those things and then another from my vault today. Maybe I just have terrible luck but it literally felt like I was clearing things for this reward cause nothing else dropped for me last week. 30-40 hours last week for literally 2 pieces (1 from myth plus) 1 from raiding. I think it can feel bad if you have bad luck looting and them bad luck with your vault. I literally feel like everything I did last week was pointless which is not a good feeling.
Just because I don’t share your view doesn’t make me the forum police, there’s other that have the same sentiment as myself in this thread alone.

Well, when all you’re doing is losing RBGs, the PvP one takes its sweet time.
We were no doubt under geared, but our guild could not get past the first Raid boss, much less 10.
And 10 M+ runs is practically 2 hours a day alone, just doing dungeons.
The first slot isn’t some bed pan fouling event. But all three, maxed out? Yea. That’s a lot of time.
Did you have fun doing what you did?
How is SL “grinding garbage”? 
You have done no M+ and at the very most have only done m0’s to help yourself gear out and only done 1 boss in the newly released Raid… so far you’ve “grinded” for nothing but yet are complaining about such a grind that does not exist?
Let’s see… Wiping over and over in nathria for about 2 hours a boss and then getting zero loot. Not really? I’m coming from classic, I don’t expect a piece each boss but 1 piece over 12 seems reasonable as well as 1 for every 4 or so mythic plus seems reasonable as well. This feels like the slowest IV drip ever if you have subpar rng.

Then it probably was a waste, but that is completely independent of gear.
Don’t do things that aren’t fun.
As a father of 3 with 2 full time jobs, I’ve been able to max out the Vault slots last week. It only took me about a couple days with my guild and I know many others who’ve also done the same. The time commitment is minimal this time around compared to BfA.
The only called it the “Great Vault” because “Lame Vault” was already trademarked by the Fourth Trustworthy Bank of Upper Kalamazoo.

For me getting gear is fun lol… Like the challenge is fun but when you drop 70k on raid mats and you put in 30 hours with nothing to show for it, it feels bad. I’m sure you got pieces of loot out of your content so your experience is independent of mine, but if you didn’t get anything out of all the content I stated would you not be at least a little disappointed? I like things that’s are hard but rewarding … not thing that are hard with no incentive and that’s what this feels like.

I think the only issue here is it still is kind of RNG if you get a piece you need or not from the vault. looks at FFXIV’s Tomestone system and the old badge system. It was nice being able to pick what I wanted/needed.
People in this thread are mad cause they can’t read.

Most of what I have gotten has been traded to me, lol so I understand on the drops it’s just gear doesn’t matter to me. As long as I am having fun it’s all good… gear just let me do more stuff for fun. 
Better luck next week though. For me as well, the items I had to choose from are… not good.
edit: Also I have a feeling you may be pugging. If so, that is also a completely different experience.
I feel like by the time im about to almost be geared the next tier is gonna come out from the next raid. Then when I finally get some of the new gear another one is gonna release lol but I’m glad they brought back PvP gear thats relevant again
It is essentially same as BFA, you do a high key once per week. Why in hell would you choose a lowe item level at this point.

I’m a frost mage… It’s an uphill battle having low dps and getting no gear. Nobody wants frost mages right now, and if gear scales us then I’m going to suck for a really long time lol
