But I think what’s frustrating people is that the GM response that was posted is misleading and people understood it to mean that thy would never be getting their gold back, and for some people that could be hundreds of thousands or even millions. What might help would be if there could be an official response saying something like, “While the developers are still working to resolve the issue, please know that we absolutely will restore any and all lost gold and items after the issue has been resolved. Thank you for your patience.”
They already said they will not make a statement like that because it isn’t their call.
this is pretty rough. atm i have… 4-5k items (that i post daily) across 10 different toons that i post on (2k items on just my transmog toon). I have no way of telling if i even got hit by this or not. I just took everything down. friday is one of the better gold making days plus the 1st weekend right after a patch. bummer. hope it gets resolved soon.
They’re not going to make anything any more specific than that and what Desindia linked. You’re asking for something that can’t be given.
I know they said that. I’m just saying it would relieve a lot of frustration if they did.
There’s your answer.
WHEN Blues are given information to pass on, they will.
N’est pas?
Sure, it would relieve frustration if they gave a lot of promises like that… only to cause more problems in the long run if they fail to deliver on any promises. Unfortunately in this situation the suggestion is more harmful than helpful.
If people would take the time to read it, it doesn’t say anything at all about never getting your gold back. Unfortunately, it was misconstrued to try and get others to believe that’s what it said.
And no, Blizz or more specifically the Support Forum Agents here are not going to make promises that they can’t possibly be held to. Orlyia can’t say with absolute certainty the people will get their gold back unless the development/qa teams can verify that statement to be true and then ask her to put that message forward.
And how frustrated do you think people would be if that statement then turned out to be false?
No point in putting out a statement like that until they know what the resolution is going to be.
the gm response wasn’t misleading. it said developers are working on a fix and gm’s can’t restore his gold. that’s exactly true and you’re being purposefully obtuse if you try to read into the response a declaration that there will be no fix or restoration.
but at the same time, your suggested response is exactly what they are NOT saying. they don’t know that they’ll be able to restore lost gold and items. that is, as orylia already put it, making promises that someone else has to keep. and it isn’t for customer support representatives to decide. it is to be decided by developers. as has been explained already in this thread.
I’m hoping, like many of you, that this gets resolved soon. I too seem to have lost ah items/ sales. They never made it back to the mailbox. This is making saving up for the Brutosaur that much more difficult. I hope blizzard can compensate us in some way for this lost time/resources, or bring back the old AH it worked. We need to get back to work. ASAP.
Reddit shows a post by a GM named Laandark seeming to promise restoration. Not sure about that validity of the post.
Well, obviously they’d have to deliver. But they kinda have to deliver anyway, don’t they? I mean I guess they don’t have to according to the ToS, but I think Blizz will feel a moral obligation to make this right. And I imagine they will make it right eventually.
People continually think GMs fix the game. Or are privvy to everything that QA and the Developers are doing. This simply isn’t so. Nor are those working on a fix going to stop what they’re doing to make a statement. They’re too busy.
Thanks for the hard work Orlyia. I quickly scrolled through and read all your messages here. It sucks that there are no real answers yet, but I appreciate your efforts and snarky, professional approach to some people’s comments. I’m sure you’ll inform us of any new developments when you know more.
my banker character is this one i am typing with… kil’jaeden i have the same problem… probably lost over 80k on gold and like it was stated above its hard to keep track of exactly the items that i sold since i do post alot.
{Can we stop the traditional back and forth that takes place, which ends up derailing the thread from the original subject? Thank you. ~Vrakthris}
Fine…
I simply made a comment about relieving customer anxiety and the chronics jumped on me. Oh well.
I’ll just say that of course Blizz will figure out how to get poeple their gold back. This isn’t missing out on a little progression from the server resets the other day. This is huge for people. Please try to be patient.
My good god can they just put something out that’s finished and working for once? They expect me to pre-order their next expansion when they can’t even get the current one working. The BFA expansion has been trial and error THE ENTIRE TIME. Stop working on the NEXT one and make the CURRENT ONE WORK!!! I’m getting so fed up with this greedy corporate bull man just give me a freaking game that works and I will give you my money. I’m not pre-ordering anything from blizzard anymore.
I haven’t received gold for numerous items on this character, while receiving gold for some items sold (low amounts like a couple hundred gold here and there). While items including items from previous expansions such as legion medallion from WoD selling and not getting the gold. I use to at least count on the AH not losing the gold of items I sell, when a new patch drops.
10k of sales right before bed & god only knows what else sold and disappeared while I was asleep. I’m shadows on uther and am STILL waiting for a payback or wow token
