Not able to report people in game(?)

Not sure if this is the right place as I see no actual area to inquire/report said issue. But trying to report a player for hacking/cheating and when reporting them I get the whole “Thank you for report” pop-up but in the in-game chat box it says Report system unavailable. So are we not able to report players for malicious actions, or anything for that matter?

I’m actually getting the same thing, when I went to report, as well. I went to report for inappropriate RP name. I did the following steps, three times (around 7:51pm PST), on the Emerald Dream RP Server (I won’t say the person’s name).

• I right clicked on the person’s portrait (in game), clicked on “Report Player”
• Selected “Inappropriate Name”
• Selected “Character Name”
• Typed in the open box my usual “inappropriate RP name”
• It’ll say “thank you for your report!” in the “WoW Customer Support” box, but it’ll say “Report system unavailable”, in my in-game chat.

Skipping this step still caused the same error.

This is Retail and not Classic. I was in SW, atop one of the building roofs that overlooks most of the Trade District (unmounted), near the AH, if my in-game location might be an issue. Though, changing spots didn’t help, either. Changing characters, doesn’t help, either.

Had the same problem here. Vote to Kick passed on someone who was mouthing off during a dungeon, then they whispered me something that triggered the abusive chat feature. Clicked the provided [Report] button and got “Report service unavailable.” in chat after filling out the form it brought up.

Hopefully, more people will report in these bug forums (or this thread) about this matter because it’s important for the report feature to work.

Tried to report accounts committed to exploiting/gold farming and i keep getting this error. With the system error i have seen a sudden increase in accounts at known farm spots taking advantage of this issue. Is there a timeline as to when it will be fixed? I have been resorting to sending emails to hacks@blizzard.com along with screenshots and video footage of these activities along with the names of the avatars and servers they operate from in the mean time.

I’ve put in a bug report about this, as well, a few hours ago. I was trying to report boosting website ads in the raid section of the group finder, myself.

I just logged on, and checked to see if it was working yet while I was wandering around; I’m still having this issue. Just wanted to add more information, if it proves helpful.

I’ve been getting 'Report system unavailable" since at least 10 PM EST Friday night on Cataclysm Classic, when trying to report the many inappropriate names and chat lines that appear in LFG there.

I am forwarding the link from the original. I followed the troubleshooting steps but still got the error message. I wasn’t specific in the original post but i get the message both in the chat box and on screen in red letters. I still see the thank you for reporting box. I wonder if it is likely my account may be breached as i have been reporting in a particular area for 2 months and those who have been banned are likely retaliating or trying to stop me via hacking my account. Please don’t hurt yourself with that reach, friend. To say Blizzard doesn’t seem to care is a stretch. It may be a larger issue than any of us realize, there may not be enough bug reports for them to take action, it may just take time, any number of things.

Has anyone else in this thread put in a bug report? Not here on the forums, but going to the game menu, clicking support, and then going to “Submit bug report or feedback”.

Is that when you are using the right-click report option, Rasath? I’m not seeing any issues with it myself. I don’t know if it would help, but you might try resetting your User Interface to see if anything there is causing an issue. If you continue to have an issue even with the default UI, please submit a bug report so our QA team can take a look.

Good to know it’s not just me having this issue. I also got mass-reported (received a communication warning) for saying “lol” in /1 about 10 minutes after I logged into Classic Anni yesterday, so it must’ve been working at some point.

Report system is still down as of right now.

I too can confirm the report system is down. Had someone spamming barrens chat on classic anniversary with all kinds of political nonsense and reporting them gave the error.
Hope this gets fixed soon.

Locked thread, still down days later with no comments and no option to report people via tickets or anything else in the meantime is very bad. Not the first time I’ve had the bug but usually it’s back to working after minutes, but Blizzard should definitely be accepting tickets for when things are down if they can’t figure it out.
