While D4 doesnt have a timer, I’d say clearing fast is even more important in D4 than WoW.
nobody is saying that except people who don’t know how m+ works
I haven’t played it much, but the dungeons seem to take forever, and they’re all so samey.
Exactly.
Im semi down for the idea as long as if its its own game mode.
Whatever game mode you wanna call it. Just leave M+ alone as far as the timer is concerned
People advocating for no timer should try D4 first and see if they like it (assuming they played Diablo 3.)
Set your plan before you start and roll. If something goes left, you’ll probably need to communicate z but that’s the same at all levels. The higher you go, the better the players are too, so those adjustments are going to be more familiar to them anyway.
If folks want to spend the whole dungeon chatting, run with friends. There’s way more resources now to find people who want to do that than there used to be.
I played more earlier on. Got to about lvl 70ish in nightmare dungeons. Tried to keep each one under 15 mins.
When your best gear is completely RNG, getting a high/fast kill count is directly tied to your progression in a way that outpaces WoW.
D4 has a combo of insanely low RNG for gear combined with a death counter for nightmare.
I’d rather they removed the annoying affixes before removing the timer.
I think that’s another change that will kill M+. Imagine running the same dungeons without change for months.
Now I appreciate Tyrannical and Fort.
D4 is a wack game lol.
Havent you seen how much playing time has dropped on it recently?
Even on twitch theres less than 1k viewers daily most days
One true reason why i don’t do them is the stupid timers ,had enough of that in tourgrass.
Torghast didnt have a timer that mattered. You could legit 100% ignore the timer and get a rank 5 or whatever it was called. Max rating.
Here’s my hot take,
Keep the timer but don’t tie any rewards to it. No +1 +2 … those who want to race can.
What? sure it did lol. You just for got all the screaming people did.
I’ll link a reply/post I made years ago that I think is still relevant when discussing timers. It attempts to objectively quantify what amount of time is acceptable to complete a dungeon and give some framework for helping to demystify the “rush” mentality.
Just because a person screamed doesnt mean it mattered.
You could be 20 mins over the timer and easily get the max rating for the torghast run. I know because I did it many times.
You could afk to cook dinner, come back, complete the run. Get the max rating.
The timer was physically there, but it didnt matter.
Of course it doesn’t matter now,lol screams and screams later they changed it now it’s in mythic + runs ,and you know what ? Their still screaming!
I am talking about then…during shadowlands.
It didnt matter when it was current.
People will scream whenever they cant get BIS from trivial content.
As far as I know, the only rewards you get in a timed vs untimed key are more fragments and an increased key level. You’re suggesting what, just no difference in the number of fragments dropped? What would happen to the key level? How would one progress to higher keys?
But have to admit they did, Gotcha
