Muted InGame for over 24 hrs, Due to Selling Enchants

Well it looks like you were wrong in 2007, and you’re wrong in 2019 too.

Also, learn to quote and post properly. You would think a 12 year veteran would have it figured out by now.

This is not spam per Blizzard, and is indeed the proper use of trade chat. You can leave trade, or ignore the sellers, but to report them for advertising sale of a service in trade chat is an abuse of the right click reporting system. If you wish to have a social chat, use general, guild, or create another channel.

Shocked to see so many trying to defend fast repetition of the same post as anything other than spam. That’s exactly the definition of spam and always has been. It’s why Blizzard introduced anti-spam tools like reporting.

Anyway, despite the protesters here, who are probably spammers, I’m sure the vast silent majority appreciates any effort to prevent the game from being polluted by those who want to abuse the communication systems for their own personal gain at everyone else’s expense.

Meanwhile, back to OP’s original complaint, if it is true that guilds have organized to falsely report non-spam in order to thwart competition, I hope Blizzard finds out and takes appropriate measures. They’d have all the records they need, all they’d have to do is look, and if they made examples out of a few of the worst abusers the practice would likely die down some.

Sounds like someone is trying to stifle the competition.

Right back atcha.

Well to be fair there is an Ah, but i do agree that getting silenced for trying to sell an item is ridiculous. However, some abuse the channel with nonstop spam and it does become bothersome.

There isn’t a good solution so Blizz takes the easy road. The same reasoning is why in retail we now have personal loot, because some people behave like savages. It’s the world we live in!

This is the sort of thing Blizzard needs to crack down on, people abusing the system like this. Not people trying to advertise enchanting.

I hope this gets a swift reversal and the ones who reported you find themselves on the side of punishment.

Why do that when I can just as easily RCR them and have them actioned if they are deserving of a knuckleslap?

Or they can be RCRed.

Personally I see them as violations to what was agreed upon when we began playing.

You are awfully judgmental pot.

Ooooor players that are willing to help blizzard keep servers from being cesspits.

Removing right click report

Keep dreaming

There’s indeed and AH, but there’s no way to sell enchants through it, no Enchanting Vellums in classic.

right click reporting is a nice feature but it should not have an auto silence
along with it

this is staff pruning gone wrong

Sounds more like the Repubs, silencing the free market in favor of the “major players,” or in real life, corporations, which it sounds like this guild thinks they are.

Saw this happen to a warlock that was advertising Mara carry services. The largest guild on his faction spam reported him into oblivion.

Or you could try not being a snowflake and reporting people for trading in trade, and maybe idk move trade to a separate chat window so you dont have to see it when you enter a city unless you want to.
By all means though report other spam that doesnt involve trading thats fine, im actually expecting to see a post from you soon " i got silenced for no reason" just as revenge from anyone that is on your server and read your posts. You report them for nothing you kinda deserve the same.

what turns you into this person? how pathetic can you be?

Learn to use chat windows, please.

Or forums.
Two threads complaining about this and in both was suggested to post in the customer support forum and yet there is 0 threads there recently on RCR issues.
Odd how that works. It’s almost like if they have a Blizzard employee check it out that their lies will come into the open and they will be shown to have been legitimately squelched and silenced.
