LGBT+ History Month

No cisgender heterosexual right wing fascist has ever been murdered just for existing.

The same can’t be said about us transgender people.

Sit down son.

Mussolini.

Okay boomer.

Ummmmm. I’m pretty sure plenty of heterosexuals have been murdered in higher numbers just for existing. The houlacaust ring a bell, how about ethnic cleansing, how about slavery throughout history, not just early US history, how about genocidal political dictatorships…facts don’t care about your feelings. I’ll keep standing, boy.

Nah im good fam. I don’t need more shipping wars

Yes. But what drives transgender people to suicide?

There’s a disproportionate amount of transwomen, especially transwomen of color who are murdered just for existing.

Live and let live?

Only when LGBT people stop getting murdered.

That’s a matter of perspective. If being a fascists is who he is, it is a matter of existence.

How about how society has treated them?

According to the UCLA study, the rate of self harm increases for trans people when they are bullied, harassed, assaulted, made homeless for just existing, doctors refusing to have them as patients, or how family disowns them. These forms of trauma can then trigger mental illness development such as major depressive disorder.

I actually read the study.

Statistically, you have a higher chance of getting struck by lightning than getting murdered for being trans. In 2018 there were 26 trans “murders” with only a few being from a clear transphobic mindset. Most were from people they actually knew or from their own partners.

18ish percent of all reported hate crimes in the us were driven by sexuality and gender identity. That’s one in five.

That’s a significant amount of victimizing of LGBT people. Is that not problematic to you?

Yet other groups that suffer from bullying, assault, homelessness, etc don’t share the same high rate.

Who are the other 82% of hate crimes?

So that means 82% were from other groups. By your own admission, LBGT hate crime is on the low side of the spectrum.

This by no means is acceptable, but maybe you should tone down the victimization complex and realize that people, in general, can be pretty horrible to other people.
