I think both the troll and the hate need to be cracked down upon.
The troll makes the platform for the hate. The moderation not acting quickly as things go sideways makes the platform horrible.

As I said in my edit, if the platform was gone, the hate would be more sporadic and more properly moderated.

Getting rid of the troll doesn’t get rid of the bigots and there’s tooooonnes of other threads they post in.
One individual troll is not the main problem.
Because their software is crap and they don’t see the full context and never have the time/motivation to investigate further.

Same. I know about a dozen or so players IRL who would love to have more representation and inclusion. Pronouns we discussed and we all agree they would be a great fit as this is an RPG and role playing is important! I question how anyone can claim they have statistics outside of official Blizzard responses.
Their software didn’t even have ignore at first. In fact the lead dev over at the discourse software (forum software company) was against ignore in all cases for years before finally walking it back.

You’re purposefully minimizing, or just flat out being ignorant, of the full scope of what the T gang has been doing for years. This is either one individual with quite a large amount of toons/accounts or a concerted group effort amongst several individuals.
You are literally more concerned about a few cockroaches skittering around the kitchen, than the hole in the wall that let them in or the people with the sledgehammer who made the hole.

It feels like they went with Discourse because certain management teams bought into it or liked said lead dev instead of finding the best forum stuff that fit for Blizzard and the community. We still don’t have a ton of forum functions that older forum iterations had.

I made an LGBT/thread asking for non-binary and/or androgynous customizations and it didn’t wind up full of hate because it had something for everyone.
The fact that the t trolls make threads that explode really say to me that they’re doing it wrong/trolly intentionally.

You’re more concerned about one troll than the fact that bigotry is rampant in the community.
He doesn’t go around to people’s houses and make them post about why trans people aren’t human or that gay people shouldn’t be allowed to adopt.
The fact that you edited this to make it appear you weren’t being the aggressor is not only telling but pretty sad. It also lets me know that either you’re aware you’re harassing me or trying to bait me into a fight because you’re obtuse and think you’ll get away with it.

I disagree that refuting your points while not being as nasty as you is what you claim it to be, though on the other hand I think you’re happy being the one to stoop to that level yourself while not dealing with any of the issues in the first place.

No, I’m trying to eliminate the breeding ground and safe haven for the hatred, so it can be effectively maintained and exterminated, rather than allowed to flourish unchecked.

I will also point out that T posts, which in their own right WITHOUT the context behind the person end up flagged a lot while ACTUAL bad statements never even reach the flagged state which further adds to the problem I’m pointing at.
