Body Type Customization, Please

Howdy.

I’m actually a little excited for the Dracthyr because we’re actually going to supposedly have a choice between a more lithe dragon form and a swole dragon form. While it’s not perfect and people would like more options, it’s a good start.

I would like to someday see a wider variety of avatar body types for people to choose from.

I suggest the following options for both men and ladies, not all implimentations are necessary nor does it need to be done right away. It would just be neat to have eventually:

  • Swole — Every race should have an absolute unit swole oh lawd they coming avatar variation.
  • Leaner — A less swole model variation.
  • Lanky — A tall thin lanky model variation.
  • Dadbod — A model that is more chubby with love handles.
  • Short — Sometimes people want to be a little bit smaller.
  • Androgynous — For when folks want to do dude look like a lady (or the other way around).

Ladies might want to have a thicc Venus style option with more exaggerated secondary sexual characteristics. A tall lanky lady might have less exaggerated characteristics.

I think this would probably be easier to impliment than trying to add sliders for various body sizes because you mostly just have to scale them edge loops and maybe stretch some of the rigging bones. Theoretically the animations should be able to work but may require some toying with depending on how the animations are done.

Please share your thoughts, additions, etc.

Some guy on reddit successfully implemented body sliders, not just body types but actual sliders. Unfortunately i can’t find the post.
Either way, my point is that absolutely can be done. It’s just a matter of if Blizzard was to dedicate resources towards it.

Been mentioning this for years, but they’re not listening.

Oh. I don’t doubt it can be done but I’m not sure how well things like shoulder armor would fit with the transforms. It could be fine. It could not be. I haven’t tested it and don’t have time to do so for another couple of weeks.

This should be the only option for both genders of every race.

Makin all kinds of gains

Oo I also love this idea for gnomes, my teeny beans can be as teeny as possible! IMO the in-game gnomes are too tall, they are almost as tall as dwarves! I think it would be so cute for gnomes to be super small size!

The gear stretching and clipping is going to be an issue, so that’s added extra work to make this stuff look okay. It already looks awkward, and in some cases, outright bad on KT. So that’s something that would need addressed.

I would rather they spend the ridiculous amount of resources it would take to make those six added models for fourteen different skeletons, animate each of them and redo every single piece of armor in the game for what would now be eighty-four (six new models times fourteen current models) different forms on more gameplay RP features, player housing, more world-building questing, heck, just about about anything else.

There is already plenty of character customization. In fact, Shadowlands added more than ever before. And the game continues to bleed subs because, without any solid gameplay, it is just shallow fluff.

Wow, this isn’t sexist as all. No ‘male is the default and female is an after thought’ here. No, not all.

Options = Diversity/Inclusivity.

What about a size slider that doesn’t change the proportions? This already exists in the game with things like the World Shrinker and Noggenfoggin Elixir, it’s actually just one command (modify scale # in range (0,10]). The only difference is that it would be permanent and allow people to have characters of different sizes, which can be modified further by the aforementioned toys!

That could work in some cases I think.

Tauren are lean like bodybuilders. There is no fat on them.

Meant more in the line of thin/slimmer, slightly less bulk to them.

The Dracthyr have only one class. Body options seem fair compensation.

All kinds mayneee

Sliders for various body parts would be nice. That’s what a lot of other games do. I just doubt the WoW engine can handle something like that.

gimmie hands

I would love this.

Does swole account for the general feel of Druids of the Claw from WCIII?
