BC, is the path of retail, so no… also flying is a huge nono for a huge chunk of the pvp crowd, since it ruins world pvp…
Classic should never go beyond 60…

THIS. And btw Dhakgor, this person wants layering to separate Classic/TBC/Wrath, which really isn’t that feasible. There are just way too many differences not only in the game world, but mechanics and animations etc. Layering alone just won’t cut it. Separate servers are the ONLY way to go here
“X” is the path of retail. Flying mounts and better design seems to be the fault of TBC. Flying mounts restricted to Outland were a neat thing, and the design was a nice change - I’m all for Classic but TBC was in my opinion better ultimately.
Classic will never go beyond 60. TBC will be optional on a separate server. A one time only char transfer or copy and players can play TBC if they want but aren’t required
You say this with a lot of certainty for none of us having any idea.
They should never do Classic+. Separate TBC, and eventually Wrath servers.
Here’s how it would go. Quite some time after phase 6, open up new TBC servers. Allow a one time character copy of all your characters on a given realm over to 1 TBC realm. After this character copy that realm is restricted from copying characters to TBC (all this together would prevent any conceivable form of copying gold or materials to inflate the TBC realm).
Then because with phase 6 in the past and TBC realms available, what they could do is merge Classic realms so they don’t become total ghost-towns (if there are 2 or more of the same names, the one(s) with less time /played would be forced to name change). Then people could continue to raid log and/or PVP on these now-condensed Classic realms. Then at the same time as TBC realms open they could also launch fresh Classic realms for those that want to experience phase 1 - 6.
Once TBC has run its course through its respective phases, they could open fresh Wrath servers, allow realm-wide character copying from TBC to Wrath, merge legacy TBC servers, and open up fresh TBC servers open to character copies from the previous Classic servers that recently went phase 1 - 6. This whole process could continue ad-infinitum ensuring that players would always have access to Classic, TBC, and Wrath servers whether they be fresh slates or museum servers from August 26th, 2019.
yes couse people will not want to pvp in outland ?!?
if you want tbc, then add it as lvl 60, and add sets that create variations that lack in classic…
alot of people are hugely against the big “resets” and is one of the issues with retail…
There is other problems, like should horde have paladin ?, should alliance have shaman ?, its the beginning of the path of streamlining the sides and making everything the “same” … also classic is probably where racials was the most balanced despite, sure horde is better for pvp, but alliance atleast was better for pve …
My answer to you regarding what should or shouldn’t be in TBC is:
#NOCHANGES
This includes everything that was or was not present in TBC at release or later prior to Wrath. Similar to Classic. If you roll on or transfer to a TBC/Wrath server, you know ahead of time what you will be getting into. This means flying and anything and everything else you may or may not like.
You will never get a consensus by the gaming community on what is right or wrong. Too many opinions and little things to nitpick. Blizzard has always shown they will do whats best for them in the long run financially. If classic subs start to go down past acceptable levels I would expect to see TBC if they think that would give them another $$$ boost.
If tbc server is stand alone, then sure, they would be a museum piece of its own, with no conection back to classic…
The other route, would be to extend classic, and create content for classes that lack sets for their hybrid roles…
i honeslty dont think its granted that classic should go down the path of retail again , since peopel wanting classic left retail for a reason, and going down the same path again, will create same result…
Only in the really long run.
When WotLK was current, I was outspokenly wondering to my guildmates why they didn’t release Classic and BC servers when there was such an obvious untapped money source there. All the ones who had any response at all agreed. And yet, it took a decade for money to matter more to them than the egos of the people who think Modern is all any of us should want to play.
Not really. See the thing you need to keep in mind is that not everyone quit when TBC was released. No matter your personal feelings on flying and how it supposedly killed wpvp, many others stuck around myself included. So long as the future expacs never extend beyond Wrath, the general consensus is that everything will be fine since sub counts didn’t begin to dip until Cataclysm. So long as everything remains optional, people can migrate to the expac they prefer and it would be much better for the game in the long run IMO
True, but classic was created and brought back, with the vote and passion of people wanting classic and what it stands for…
every expansion takes away things that made classic great, horde shouldent have paladins, alliance dident have shamans… flying made wpvp suffer greatly… there were huge changes to racials… and alot of people hate the resets
Now, yes some liked this, and i understand that, but every step is steps down the path of retail, and we that fought for years, left couse of the “normalisation” … so if we are to extend classic, why go down the same path, leave classic as classic, where horde dont have paladins, keep the big difrances…
But as many others have pointed out, although Classic is awesome, it’s only going to have so many updates and after everyone has cleared Naxx several times over and gotten their full T3 and BiS gear, then what? After 2 or 3 years players will start getting bored and quit if TBC/Wrath is not eventually rolled out also. Don’t be so close-minded and selfish and let everyone have the expac that is their favorite to be played. If Blizzard is smart they will stop at Wrath. If not, well then I guess they will take quite a big financial hit if they try putting out Cataclysm also
hopefully we can have wrath with more community focused game.
again, there is your fail argument, and the same goes for tbc, then you want wrath, and then you want… and then we have retail fail…
Secondly it not me you need to convince its that pvp masses, that is the biggest block of players, and they wont want flying, since it ruins wpvp, and blizz wont put up servers for people that just want to run through the content, for their next fix…
They’ll probably merge the dying servers and release a single new one for people who wanted to be there on August 26th but couldn’t.
I mean, it’s pretty obvious that they won’t limit your chances to start fresh on a vanilla server to a single point in time, like August of 2019, right? I’m betting on one or two new servers every year for the next few years at least…
Either making character transfers available to TBC servers or entirely fresh TBC servers can allow those that want to remain in Classic, able to.
So long as the dungeon finder only works with players on your own server I think Wrath should be fine. Once it started grabbing players from other realms is when community began to die. Bad enough we had CRBGs at that point.
