“We’ve done most of the hard work by bringing back 1.12 so progressing to Burning Crusade would be a lot easier for us. Our plan is to identify everything we need to do should we ever decide to go this route. We want to be sensitive to the desires of our players. Some may want BC and some may not. We’ll be following the Classic community closely to help determine what our next steps should be.”

Exciting news! I am in favor of TBC realms and would play the hell out of that.
I think it would be great to keep the classic servers just as classic and then open up BC servers and allow players to transfer their classic characters over to the BC severs.
Can’t wait for TBC, Classic is the TBC waiting room!

Oooh, I want this too! But not for a couple of years. I want to enjoy Classic without feeling rushed to move on too soon.
I would love this, and I would love Wrath servers even more, but if they do this they need to keep the Classic servers open and open up all new servers per xpac.

That doesn’t mean what you think it means. That is the same answer they gave last time. Nothing is on the table right now. They said it would be easiest not that that is what they are looking at doing.
This also implies changes are on the table in general. Lets make some noise everybody.

This is great. I started playing in Wrath and stoppled playing shortly after. I really regret not sticking with it as I missed out on so much. I’m excited to be able to play through the content as it originally sat. I know I’ll never be able to experience it all as it was in 2005 but I can’t wait for classic.
That splits communities. It sounds good in theory but it will cause one community to wither and die. Plus, I really don’t see blizzard making two separate games. If it goes to BC then we all do BC.

What changes are you talking about? I don’t see any implication of changes.
You’d quit the game even if the realm stays as Classic only? Seems to me that the TBC realms would be separate?

Yeah, I could basically do Vanilla ~ TBC ~ Wrath, rinse, repeat, for the rest of time.

Also, you can say that the retail community is split from the classic community. But we can say we’re all a world of warcraft community.
It is not like all these people are going to just play classic wow forever. The community will fade away given time no matter what. I don’t want to see the Vanilla enthusiasts lose their game AGAIN to TBC. So separate servers is the way to go.
Doesn’t make sense because they’re already doing that by releasing Classic.
