I totally get that. I also don’t think the overall venn diagram of valid kicks reaches into “cuz I did it” territory.

I do appreciate the very libertarian approach that the WoW forums have on this single, individual, very specific and unique in that regard subject though. Perhaps it can grow from here.

There is a difference between defending something and explaining something.

Do bad kicks happen? Of course they do, its crappy, its mean and its humans being humans.

Is the system responsible? No. The system is what it is. It sets the rules of how the vote kick works. It has been repeatedly explained that technically it is not abuse. Morally, it may be but the rules don’t cover morals, the system is not telepathic, it can’t discover what a person is thinking when they do something the system allows them to do.

And no method of change has ever been provided that does not impact in some other negative way on the LFG system. If there was some amazing option provided on this forum, its likely Blizzard would have grabbed and run with it by now, even if just to avoid the tickets that are probably made and the posts that are definately made on this and the other forums.

If you’re being kicked in 5 groups out of 10 you might be the problem. If you’ve initiated 5 kicks in 10 groups you also might be the problem.

The Debuff associated with being kicked is an unfortunate result of people abusing that queuing system. There were a couple of scenarios but mostly it ended up with people trying to get kicked out so that they could leave a group without receiving a debuff, which they’d get if they simply left the group on their own.

i hope this gets revisted and maybe go back to 15 min starting off
the fact of it is, yes, the vtk is getting used way more than it needs to be, i don’t know
why all of the sudden but it is. so, it now needs to be looked into or revamped.
theres too many innocents getting kicked when 30 mins is a lot of chew.

also, if it was a “couple” of scenarios then why punish everyone else?

I got 100 bucks on the problem this was designed to ‘fix’ wasnt as bad as the problems its created.

I was kicked for joke reasons early on…never said a word about it back then in here.
Id bet for every bogus kick we hear about in here, there are hundreds or even thousands that no one ever says anything about on this forum.
MY experiences with seeing bogus kicks against others…AND the very words of some in THIS thread…would confirm those numbers are likely very close to accurate

REMOVE the timeout…let the tank leave if he wants, no penalty.
IF hes a troll he’ll just get kicked again and again…but no one, Id hope to god, is so desperate for attention…that theyd WANT a trolling tank staying in the group where hes only there because hes forced to be so he can trash the run for 4 other players.

Personally, I WANT him to leave if he doesnt want to be there.

The fix for that is, stop forcing us to have a tank in the first place.
Warlock and hunter pets can easiliy tank if needed …and if they cant, change it so the can.
if 5 DPS want to run a 5 man…let them

Providing reasons would solve this. There’d be a record of kicks and reasons for them, providing they keep the records.

we know they arent gonna actually act on kick votes…they cant even ‘afford’ good CS lmao…but the data itself could be helpful in determining if this problem is as big as it might seem.

So it would take going through the records of kick reasons to see if there is a problem and since Blizzard doesn’t have the man power to do this, it’s likely not going to happen unless the playerbase gets to see the reasons they get kicked.

Im good with them knowing the reason, and Id personally be ok with seeing names of who initiated the kick and who voted yes…if for no other reason than to know who to put on ignore.
No reason not to do it.
We can see who we’re playing with already. We can ignore all four as it is easily enough. but without a list we might include one innocent person who didnt vote and thats unfair as the kick was.

Happens now and then especially if you end up with a group that queued as a group of 3.

my very first thought when entering a dungeon where i can see 3-4 of them are together is i hope i dont get kicked and my very last thought when killing the last boss is i hope i dont get kicked just as we kill the last boss. Thats the kind of faith i have in people in this game

We ask ourselves WHY did blizzard even bother with that JOKE Social contract when they allow and ENABLE ABUSE of other players in defiance of that contract.

LITERALLY the ONLY time you can abuse other players and get away with it is with the vote kick lmao.

Griefing…Ive seen VERY quick action taken when somone was killing quest NPCS over and over.
Cuss at someone in chat…boom…silenced.
Use racist words against someoe and your entire account might be banned

But abuse the hell out of them with the vote kick and the Social Contract might as well be written in urine in the dirt as far as blizzard is concerned…and certainly as far as this community…some in it…are
