Combat isnât just about hitting another player with spells and abilities. Part of combat is the act of engaging another player, by any means available. Youâre flagged on a pvp realm, so anything that can be cast on you is a valid tactic to engage an opponent, whether you agree with it or not.
As a druid, do you never CC someone to run away and heal yourself? Or to escape a losing battle? Thatâs not combat by your definition, but it is a part of pvp.
Jeez, Iâve CCâd other players to beat them to a node in the open world⌠should I be banned for dishonourable play as well?
Iâm just gonna throw it out there⌠this specific thing that happened, happens all the time. People camp raid entrances to dispel players on their way in. The streamer that got mad was a fool⌠if you donât want to get stream sniped and lose your precious world buffs, then A) donât stream yourself on a buffed character headed to a raid, and B) donât play on a pvp realm.
If itâs not a big enough deal to roll PvE⌠then tough. Itâs part of a PvP server, which you chose. Arguing someone should be banned for it is ridiculous.
Iâm a bit concerned that Blizzard GMs are just NEET streamer audiences. What happened to professional workers that actually came into an office and did job? Blizzard are you really letting volunteer nerds moderate your IP?
Iâm just sitting here going wth, when I leveled on tich and would be camped for 8 hours non stopâŚI got told toughâŚit had to be going on for a weekâŚand this gets someone bannedâŚI lost months of play to griefing and this gets it?
From my understanding none of those things are considered âgriefingâ because there is a PvP solution to almost all of it. Albeit sometimes it, like getting dispelled by rezzers, is impossible to stop.
From what I read a long time ago (because I gank frequently) its when you TARGET someone constantly. If I gank YOU and only YOU for hours or days on end you can shake some branches and might get a ban to fall on me for targeted harassment. However if I just show up once a week and smack the buffs off you in felwood. Thatâs A-OK to blizz xD.
Everyone has their own thing, some people grind rank 14 some try for world first, and some people lay in wait to dispel peopleâs buffs.
Is it a jerk thing to do? Yes.
Should you get banned for doing it? No.
If you join a PvP server and go into contested territory, you are consenting to being engaged by the opposite faction at any time, regardless of how. If the priest had somehow locked down his ability to play, then itâd be considered unfair based on what Iâve seen in Classic. But removing a debuff? Of all griefy things that is so low down on the list??
Dispelling is part of combat. One definition of combat is âaction taken against.â Look up the damn word because you donât even know what it means. That being said, if dealing damage was the only thing that constituted PvP then we wouldnât have any CC abilities or healing.
