Launched Battlenet and it had an update for WoW. Now I can’t log in, the population column says Incompatible.
The same thing here…fix this pls
Same, Incompatible…may be time to cancel
Same here.
It isn’t necessarily something for us to fix, Doompaly, it generally just means your client is out of date. It should update automatically when you close out your WoW client, if it doesn’t there are some troubleshooting steps you can take in this Support Article:
works now…strange
Really? Overreact much? Your client is out of date because they pushed a small patch to help fix / update the game.
1 thing Vrakthris, you just came across as very bloody rude, and 2nd, NO we were forced to download a patch that is NEWER than the version of the live game, THAT IS NOT OUR FAULT ITS YOURS
I went to Options (appears under the WoW BFA banner) on the Battle .net client and selected Scan and repair. Its working now.
No he wans’t, all he did was explain what was wrong, and even linked a support link on how to fix the incompatible realms.
Please understand that tone is typically very difficult to communicate over text… usually it’s a function of body language and verbal expression.
That did sound a little harsh when reading it back, I’ve edited my original statement to better convey what I was trying to. Sorry about that.
I’m not entirely certain what your point is here, Saintscipio. The game requires updates, and these small ones allow us to apply some needed fixes/updates without having to wait for a full patch, which is often days, weeks or months down the line. If you are playing you shouldn’t be impacted. It is when you log out that you’ll be required to pick up the update before logging back in.
We are sorry for what inconvenience this may cause, but that inconvenience should be extremely minor in most situations.
The client is a NEWER version than the game so we cant log in, sayin incompatible, so again our game is NEWER version than the client not older
and your point is? A simple update fixes it. You sure are bent out of shape for a quick fix
It didnt fix it
I was able to log in on 8.2.0.30993 after patching, so it looks like the server is up to date.
O.o The client should be version 8.2.0.30993. If you don’t see that in the Battle.net Desktop App you’ll want to follow the directions in the support article that I linked.
2 posts were split to a new topic: Stuck updating
No it isn’t… You seem to be the only one that is seeing that. The problem is that your client is an older version then the one on the servers. This happens when these small patches go out and the client doesn’t always update right away, sometimes you have to exit the client (or restart your comp) for it to start.
Well, not to fuel the fire but;
I had the exact same issue, an update automatically updated, upon completion I was unable to login (every single server was incompatible) I looked at the forums and didn’t see a solution.
So, I took it upon myself to uninstall and reinstall.
It works now, but… I’m leaning more towards the “this is awfully annoying” attitude. OP, thank you for making a thread about it, you are not alone.
