I won savage gladiator chain as a tank

and whats the point?
its a spec blizzard released, and as such rets have as much need for melee dps items as the next class.

in fact, warriors of todays classic feel entitled to any gear they think fits
them.

thw warrior of todays version wears the exact same gear as a rogue.

for me, valor plate is better dps that lightbringer plate, yet why a warrior rolls om lightbringer is beyond me, as we have no xmog.

in fact i cant counter the number of chain/leather warrior who have were wearing truestrike shoulders who have needed on those shoulders when other players could have used them as an upgrade.

Are you sing me? You gotta be sting me. If, as a Prot Tank, you think mitigation is more important than threat generation for this content, just delete your s*** and go.

I kid. But not really. Aren’t you the same guy who made that one “guide” to warrior tanking while at the same time stating Demoralizing Shout (post bugfix) was better for threat than Battleshout? And then with a serious face, tried to argue that people didn’t need Anger Management, because Stance Dancing is a crutch, and called Revenge and Shield Block “situational stuff”?

Oh dear. You’ll have to excuse me if I don’t take your opinion on anything particularly seriously.

If you plan to raid as ret I don’t see the problem here. They didn’t reserve the item. They are not entitled to it. Tell them to grow up or reserve the thing they care so much about in the future.

Depends on what you said before the instance started.
Generally speaking, MS > OS. But if you, as the tank, agreed with the group to roll on DPS gear, then there shouldn’t be any problem.
However, if you just signed up as a tank and rolled (and won) dps gear over a dps who needed it without first asking, then it’s a scummy thing to do.
The whole “tanking to get dps gear” conflict could be avoided if people would simply communicate before runs start.

Dps Paladin is actually good but that chest isn’t for them. What do I know maybe he is trying something new.

Yes, if u do digging in last week or so u will find ret putting out about 300dps Sustainment in blues. It’s more a mixture of sp type build.

I think that you are fine to need, but I also think that maybe you should communicate your intentions in advance.

As a tank there are items that you can need on that are both DPS and tank items, but Savage Glad isn’t one of them.

I think if you are tanking to get dps gear you should state that. It’s pretty simple.

Situations like this is exactly why I duo’d or trio farmed SGC with my friend’s holy paladin. Sometimes, we would bring a guildie that only needed Hand of Justice (already had it) or a caster for the ogre’s loot. I wasn’t going to risk losing SGC after going to like, 50 arena runs to finally see it. Hell, only saw Gorosh once in 40-42 runs.

You’re the one who was talking about Fury and Prot:

Ret Paladins have the best DPS in the game.

Unfortunately, it isn’t this game.

Im not going to say you didnt have the right to roll however the deep sadness in the heart if the waerior us something i can identify with

Warriors can go suck a saveloy - anyone can roll on anything. Their loot entitlement is getting absurd on these forums (thankfully not in game so far). No-one gets precedence over anyone in a pug group. That chest is pre-raid BiS for 4 different classes at least. You did nothing wrong. I’m a Hunter and you can bet I’d be rolling too. It’s time to kick this Retail crybully petulance to the curb.

Grats on the chest is the only thing anyone should be saying.

you should’ve said something about rolling on that thing well before it dropped
or did you?

What? It’s BiS for him. He doesn’t have to say anything. It’s accepted everyone doing that content wants that chest.

Two wrongs don’t make a right. Just because some people who play a certain class are douchebags when it comes to rolling on gear that isn’t for their spec, that doesn’t make it okay for everyone else to do the same.

It doesn’t make him healer harder

I’m a ret player. You are a scumbag. If you’re taking, you don’t get priority on sub 1% droprate DPS gear.

I gotta agree with Zakiri’s assessment of warriors. They will absolutely roll on everything. More than once I’ve had a BiS item for my hunter jacked by a warrior because “he needs it,” - usually just for a stat stick (bows and xbows). Then had the group turn on me because “hunters roll on everything” which I don’t.

Not much more to say than this. Everyone who’s played wow for a long time knows this is the standard protocol. You can try to play dumb or ignorant, but the fact is you’re a ninja looter.

Honestly, you guys need to all go back to Retail with this petulant nonsense if you can’t deal with the realities of non-instanced loot. Everyone in the group can roll who can use it. That’s how PuG’s work.

People can do anything. You will be guildless and alone should you choose to though.
