He doesnât play it bc it has always been inferior on the servers he has played on. You think he didnât test it on classic? Because he has tested it on private servers and it was always worse than crit/AP. And the SP gear right now is trash. What SP chest do you think is gonna compete with savage glad chain?

Having a point that coincides with the topic at hand would be great.
As much as ret is a meme spec, your entitled to it as much as another dps. Just as a shaman is entitled to it on horde. If the group knew beforehand then your gold, if the warrior didnt ask beforehand thats his/her own fault.

Can confirm, some raids do have pally tank stuffâŚfor about 3 seconds until someone crits or on the rare occasion ALL warriors and feral druids go afk for bio breaks.

Fact is itâs BIS for a ret and people can play whatever spec they want.
Generally I donât like people rolling off spec but the OP is correct that warrior tanks do it all the time.

An entire guild /ignored me for need rolling on a Star Ruby because another person did. He asked why I rolled and I said because he did. He said it was because he needed it for Blacksmithing, I told him I too need it for Engineering. Of course it was a 3/5 member âguildâ run so I was kicked and ignored by 4/5 people (the 4th thought I rage quit I guess I donât know) and the guyâs guild all ignored me too. I know because someone from his guild was advertising a group and I whispered and I was ignored by them. Donât worry about random people ignoring you. You are likely better off not having to deal with such selfish people in the first place.

Youâre right. I can play a Bandage warrior and need on all the high stam gear so I have better survivability running around bandaging people. Actually, a Bandage warrior is probably more useful than a Ret.
BiS for a Ret is worth less than BiS for a Bandage warrior.

Depends really the ret can be useful if there arenât enough holy paladins in the raid, which isnât uncommon.

If there isnât enough Holy paladins in the raid, then the Ret can put on healing gear and heal. In that case, he doesnât need the Savage chest.
The guild may already have enough healers. Especially in MC you donât need that much healing.

For Ragnaros sure, but other than that he can still DPS. It wonât be great, but itâs not like high DPS is needed anyway.

I got most of prebis for ret, even got a hoj last night.
Love the 3 procs per hour, really boosts my dps!
I can almost out dps a 50 mage in greens, next target is a 55 bear Druid!
