The warrior in the group silently /ignored me and one of his guild mates whispered me saying 30 people just put me on /ignore.
I am a paladin tank. Literally only tanking for ret prebis. I do not think most people would bat an eye if a warrior tank rolled on this.
I am not really concerned about some rando guild ignoring me, but i am curious what you would think in this situation.
I thought that item is a DPS, not tank item?
People like having Paladins in their groups until Paladins actually want gear gasp
31 people ignoring you when the servers have such high capacity isn’t something I’d think much about at all. Of course I don’t really know tank or warrior/paladin gear that well, but I doubt it would change my point of view much.

did you tell them before the run you were only there for DPS gear?
if you dont specify before the run then your loot preference would default to your role in the group.
if you did tell them prior to starting then they are just sore losers
It is a dps item. Most warrior tanks i see roll on basically anything good that a warrior can wear, dps items, tank items, whatever. Since i am playing a paladin i am feeling like there is a difference of opinion on what i am entitled to roll on.
There were no rules set in place and before the run even started i stated what i was out to get (a handful of tank and dps items) noone said anything about it.
The warrior still got pissy and had his guild ignore me :\
I think you should let other classes know up front you will roll on DPS gear! Normally the tank rolls on all tank stuff, and anything that makes tanking more effective, ,now you just ruined that and rolled on other classes items too.
You should have rolled Warrior, they too roll on everything as they think every drop is theres!
Did you let the rest of the group know this when you started the run? If you’re tanking, but plan on rolling on DPS gear you should tell the group that before you start. Not saying anything, then suddenly rolling Need when a BiS DPS item drops is a douche move.
well that’s the thing, a hunter in the group did ask what i was rolling on and i told him! Hunter was cool about it after.

You need to tell the group while running to the instance, "Ok Headsup guys listen I am tanking to get Ret gear! So I am going to roll on DPS loot, anyone not cool with that say so now!
I wouldn’t put you on ignore but I would roll my eyes because ret sucks and you should be playing the OP spec holy.
Rets dont have a bis list they have a wasted gear list.
When a good item is yoinked by the Paladin tank for Ret spec, I’d expect people to get upset. Ret does 1/5 to 1/3 the damage of a Warrior DPS, so your meme spec took the most sought after dungeon item from the number 1 DPS spec.
If you believe this for PuGs you are a fool.
If his guild is so invested in his DPS gear, then surely they can run groups for him, instead of expecting PUGs to do it for them.
