I appreciate your honesty. Since Blizzard fails to give us any information could you explain what you were doing? Did you sit in cave? Did you use a clicker? Did you use a bot? What exactly did they suspend you for and how long?
I ask because I report the guys sitting on mounts doing nothing but sharing my kills. Do these guys eventually get got? I hope so. Please assist with any info you can provide.
A couple of blue posts seem to clarify this a bit, simply AFKing in the BG (not botting, just not participating) is what lead to at least one of these suspensions
I got an 8 day suspension. I never used bots I queued for bgs by myself. I never went to leech honor from kills just stood in cave with youtube/netflix on the other monitor, the max I would do is turn on a mouse macro like razer synapse.
I mean I wouldn’t call it a bot, but automating actions through software is pretty much the definition of botting and is often times viewed as the same thing.
Someone is going to earn the ranks. Just because you earned the rank does not make you an automatic suspect. In fact, I bet it’s more exciting as you get closer. It’s the middle ranks that are the most grindy and most likely to tempt people to take shortcuts.
That’s usually what they do, or at least used to do. They can also search for criteria, like “X number of HKs over X period of time”. It’s one of the ways they used to detect power levelers, by automating the scanning of logs for various bits of criteria. I wonder if they were either unable or unwilling to find some sort of criteria that didn’t hit massive false positives since they stated they manually verified them in that CS post I linked earlier.
