I won’t be naming exact guild/name as we don’t want to get unwanted attention from Blizzard.
But I own and operate one of the biggest GDKP guilds on Bene.
We have 4 Raid Teams that runs weekly:
- P1 Group for Kara/Mag/Gruul
- P2 Group for SSC/TK
- P3 Group for MH/BT
- Main Group for SWP
We also have mages that sell Leveling Boosts as well as SWP Trash AFK Runs.
Most of our customers RMT for their gold, we know their gold sellers, we know the rates and we have repeat customers who bring multiple alts cashing out $200 - 500 worth of gold per toon just to reach BiS on them all.
We have had customers approach us and ask us if they can pay us through Cashapp/Venmo instead of paying their gold sellers as it would cut down the middle man.
We recently did a check as well on RMT buyers, and we took 2 weeks worth of sales and in a group of around 50 customers, around 37 of them openly admitted to RMT in DMs with us.
The other ones said they earned it legit, but they most likely are just saving face as most of them work long jobs and I know they don’t have the time to grind 10k gold on T3 piece drops in GDKPs every week.
GDKP is NOT the problem.
Blizzard is NOT the problem.
It is 100% the community’s fault for TBCC being a P2W game.
The community at large are older, wealthier than when they were kids and would rather pay $100 than spend a 100 hours.
We’re at that point now as a Classic community, and WoTLK will only make this a lot more mainstream than it already is.
People will not believe this post, they will call this a troll, and that’s okay because tons of people bury their head in the sand daily and believe issues don’t exist in this game and they live in their own echo chambers so they never accept any outside view points.
But for those who actually play TBCC, have seen GDKPs and even seen RMT happening in front of you, you’ll know this post is coming from a place of information vs. bias.
Anyways, cheers to everyone. I have a busy work day today with raids, but I will occasionally step in to answer any questions folks have.
