Lol an hour a day playing a game.
THE HORROR
To be fair, 3-4 hours per day is the max time people have to play. For myself, big chunks are already eaten up with raid night (knocks out 2 days per week), keeping up with stuff in Zereth Mortis (this takes me like an hour or so), and all the time I want to dedicate to m+ (as much as possible).
You just said you play while working from home. Surely you can acknowledge that your ability to do this is not reflective of a lot of, or perhaps even most, peopleâs experiences, right?
you donât. Just like you donât need the BIS in every slot. Just like you donât have to copy Icy Veins class setup on every toon. Just like you donât need to follow rotation guides. All this thought that you have to do anything on this game is absurd. Itâs all optional stuff. Sure if youâre running mythic raids, maybe you should go for all that. If not, find a chill guild and do the content. Multiple toons of mine donât even have a legendary, including the one Iâve been tanking with.
Boosts from super powered stuff are nice, but they are not needed. I wouldnât even play SL if I thought I needed to do Torghast a bunch on every toon. Yâall just need to do what you enjoy. Iâve beaten normal SOD with no leggo n no BIS items, beaten multiple m+ on multiple toons across 2 accts without any of that jazz. Knowing the fights is way more important than having full BIS items and 2 leggos. All that stuff just makes your big ol dps bar go higher. Learn to ignore the charts, and youâll have a way better time with this game.
Absolutely. But this dude is saying itâs impossible to afford the game with gold earned in game and it forces you to coin which is just hilarious and wrong.
It Blizzardâs new model of game play. It a system that allows them to try and throttle game play and maintain player numbers. To me itâs lazy game design and a wall that makes me not want to play. It feels like WoW is being designed by a bunch of out of control system engineers that have no idea of what real player fun is. lol
There has been a wealth of conspiracy theories that point to this. Here is my take. If selling WoW tokens is so crucial, then just make Legendaries purchasable with the desired among of gold, so Microsoft/Activision gets their token sales and players donât have to grind Choreghast.
Alternatively, just remove the Soul Ash/Soul Cinders/Cosmic Flux requirement on Legendaries crafting. This requirement is tedious and meaningless, creating a mandatory weekly task which is the Choreghast and preventing players from doing the content they enjoy. With the base gear requirement remaining, players still have to buy tokens for the gold needed to craft Legendaries.
I had a scary thought: did BfA do legendaries the best out of the last three xpacs?
Legion had horrid RNG for the majority of the xpac. SL has this crap.
God i dislike min-maxers. Theyâre the ultimate crybabies.
When I first started playing back in vanilla I didnât think I needed anything but a solid rotation and some good friends.
The more you play the more you learn that it is necessary to have all the things that make you a good friend.
Sure, you donât need anything but man it feels good to have everything.
If you want a basic game classic is waiting for you.
You donât need a legendary.
Hard disagree. I would rather pay 10x the cost in gold and Soul Ash than be subject to the whims of RNG like we were with Legion legendaries.
They are still hands down the worst system WoW has ever had.
Ya I refuse to do that I choose my legendary and coven based on what I wanted to play and havenât changed it since.
Legendary in WoW Classic - A crowning achievement that took the efforts of 39 other people.
Legendary in Shadowlands - Spend gold/buy WoW token.
The Ash/Cinder/Flux currency creates the illusion that it isnât a pay-2-win system. Two wrong makes a ârightâ in the eyes of many players - a bad mandatory chore at least existing means that you canât simply pay your way to victory, and therefore the fact people are paying gold is somehow âmitigatedâ in the eyes of many players.
Yeah, I hate this system. Itâs just straight up pay 2 win nonsense, itâs potentially the worst feature still included in this expansion.
Shilling for my own thread again, I really think Blizzard needs to just let us buy rank 6s with leggos. Blizzard can fill their pay-2-win quota with Rank 7s, but less hardcore / less P2W players can feel satisfied with their experience -
blame it on the people who wants things they canât have and demand blizzard they should have it too because they paid their $15
I donât disagree⌠But I only did torghast for my first leggo. Since then I have made 2 more just on ash and cinders from questing, boxes, and mission table rewards
It is not wrong.
As I said, normal people donât spend their lives in the game to farm enough gold. Itâs not an hour a day, you yourself said you spent tons of hours daily. Or were just lying.
It IS impossible to afford the game with gold earned in-game. Cuz playing a normal amount of time doesnât allow you to afford it. Youâd need to spend so many time doing stuff you donât want to do before getting to the stuff you want to do.
Not everyone lives in the game like you, and for people like that, most people, most people by far, IT IS impossible to get that gold in-game.
Iâve said numerous times⌠I do about an hour of chores a day⌠and MOST of that is mount farming rares that I could easily skip
Just yesterday I opened 4 paragon chests. Easy 12k gold. Easyyyyyy
Youâre just a whiney little baby who is terrible at the game. Inefficient with their time and for some reason canât just admit either they donât know, or are lazy and would coin regardless of how easy gold was to get.
So youâre saying you should waste you time playing a GAME doing boring and easy content just so you can do the fun and engaging content you actually want to do⌠and you seriously donât see the problem with that?
âCostlyâ as in time or money or effort . To make Elementium or a Sulfuron Hammer it takes number of drops which take time to accumulate unless you are luck enough to have a number of people funneling resources.
I was also comparing Vanilla legendries to the other legendary acquisition. from later expansions were we had story lines and fairly high or guaranteed drops to progress in building a legendary.
I also didnât say it was impossible to have fun while crafting vanilla or SL legendries. What I was saying is that Cata, MoP, WoD had more refined legendary crafting with fairly interesting and engaging stories attached to the process of building legendary items.
