Wow, now you are really going off track. Btw, activism is part of the history of human kind. It goes all the way back to the beginning of people being oppressed by others.
People only think oppression is wrong until they are put into a position where they can oppress others.

They don’t see their own religious fervor. They think of Religion as bad so they can’t see their own religious zealotry or the way they persecute heretics and heathens.

I think a lot of it comes down to changes in communication over the last 15 (or so) years.
I think a lot of the turmoil now is caused by most people having a hard time understanding that not everyone thinks like they do. For all of human history, people have gravitated towards living/working with like-minded people… so opposition was viewed as a minor annoyance by a small group of people.
But now, we have instant/unlimited communication with opposing thinking, and much more opposition than we thought possible. We don’t seem to be handling it well.
Activism can also happen when it feels to good to blame someone or something, or when there is money to be made. “Hire me as your XYZ coordinator or you are a XYZ-phobe!”

Incorrect. When one’s beliefs are you have the wrong skin color or sexuality, etc that’s oppression. People fighting back to be treated equally may feel like oppression when a group is on equal footing and not benefitting from a society entirely catered to them.

Hahaha I am definitely more than 2 generations old, and I remember my parents having political meetings with friends in our livingroom.
It’s not ridiculous, it’s obvious. Look at any social uprising or takeover in history, the same people who spoke out against it just turn around and do it to people they find it acceptable to oppress.

Also, imo clearly its because the media is able to mass influence without consequence. We have free speech, and unfortunately that is why they get to say whatever they want.

I dunno about that. Every large corporation in my country starting hiring coordinators for specific things for fear of being cancelled. Now these companies are slashing those jobs – because they were scams.

I can see the angle you’re coming at, here; but Shephaestus put it rather well - I also disagree, personally, with the idea that humans are inherently like that. Hatred, Fear and Greed are learned behaviors - as is overcoming them.
Now, overcoming them? That’s the hard part.
