lol why is it always against the furries? XD
She was appointed VP, you have no choice of who is VP on either side. And I was referring to her getting the defacto nomination for president before there was a vote.
Harris was elected to political positions a number of times before the VP ticket, though. AG of CA and State Senator.
just for my edification, your argument for how to reconcile his actions is to blame folks for listening and following him? Aren’t you following someone now?
The group is political, you can be friendly to the people that are part of the group though. Same with any other group.
Didn’t know me existing was political.
Caspar Weinberger?
The issue is that the president doesn’t create laws. That’s the legislative branch.
Mitch McConnell (the turtle from Kentucky) outplayed the democrats for Supreme Court seats and set up Trump to create a court that literally does not follow the Constitution nor the will of the People. The most recent ruling makes presidents a king – they are above the law now. They are afforded different rights from you.
The GOP and MAGA have taken over the republican party, refusing to deal with anyone who doesn’t bend the knee to their draconian views. From trying to establish a national religion, to calling Jan. 6th rioters “patriots”, they are fundamentally against the America YOU want to create.
When the Republican’s have power in the House and Senate AND Presidency, do you remember what they did? They forced a failure of a $2 TRILLION tax code to be voted on in a caused a 30% inflation rate over 4 years and gave themselves and their richest friends absurdly high tax breaks.
The democrats and republicans came together to make a bi-partisan bill that greatly improved border security, and literally Trump shut it down, and caused enough MAGA/GOP politicians to vote against it.
It was never about “what has Biden/Harris done for me?” It was always “Why do these GOP/MAGA sycophants keep blocking policies that align with my own ethics?”
lol no
Someone that Ronald Reagan would want them to tear down a wall.
i’ve seen them typing for like… 10 to 15 minutes.
You have as much choice as you have of who is President. They run together. It’s a cohesive ticket.
She was nominated alongside Biden.
This right here.
RFKs platform had the foundation of, “I’m a Kennedy, and I’m not Joe Biden”. For months, that was very effective, because Joe was unpopular, and if there’s anything that the American electorate enjoys when they feel things aren’t going the right way, it’s novelty.
The issue RFK Jr faced is that the DNC had no incentive to assist him (since he wouldn’t win on his own, and he’s a damned loon), and more importantly, he was taking votes from Joe. However, once Joe dropped out, the foundation of RFK Jr’s candidacy fell out, and as you correctly said, he politically is more right-leaning and had a greater amount of general appeal from right-leaning Democrats and Independents who were relatively anti-Trump, but not necessarily pro-Biden.
The reality is that the Democrats didn’t need to smear RFK. All they needed to do was let him be him. The guy is not just woefully out of his depth on a variety of issues (the one area where he’s decent is environmental law, which is literally his profession), but he’s a damned weirdo. As the famous idiom goes, “Never interrupt your enemy when he’s making a mistake,” so all the Democrats had to do was let RFK Jr continue to be RFK Jr.
Is he a very dangerous anti-Vaxxer? Yes he is. That is indisputable on any evidentiary level. But the rub is that RFK Jr will openly tell you about his feelings towards vaccines and the “work” he has done in various locales around the world concerning them. As you said, telling the truth isn’t a smear, and a weirdo like RFK Jr volunteering anecdotes that are weird as all hell (the brain worm, the bear cub in Central Park, casually hanging out with Roseanne) is simply a case of an enemy/opponent making a mistake and the Democrats refusing to interrupt him.
That being said, I actually think him suspending his campaign and supporting Trump actually slightly helps Kamala. As I said earlier, most of his support was from disaffected Democrats and Independents who are rather strongly anti-Trump, but had soured on Joe. They wanted someone decidedly not Trump and not Biden, and RFK was the person with the greatest name recognition. Now that Joe is out, and Kamala is in, RFK Jr loses the “not-Joe” quality (Kamala, while VP, isn’t Joe), and by supporting Trump, he also loses the “not-Trump” quality. Because of that, I think many (if not most) of the people who would’ve supported him all the way to November 5 will either stay home and not vote or write him in (which by and large helps Kamala). I don’t think you will actually see a large shift of presumptive RFK Jr voters who actually vote for Trump (not to mention the amount of people who would’ve actually stuck with RFK Jr all the way to November 5 was dwindling by the day).
The people knew she was a running mate, that the electoral college would honor the wishes of them as a whole so that Biden was president and she was vice president, she made her policies and support of the president clear in debates, and with that, the people had a choice on the total package that they knew was coming. She was elected.
Oh there it is.
No, saying the left is friendlier to the LGBT community is a political stance.
Someone being gay, trans, etc, doesn’t automatically makes them political, just as me being straight doesn’t automatically mean I prefer the right or the left.
No, I said that I disagreed with RFK’s stance on vaccines, but I agreed with him on more things than I disagreed with. There are things that Harris and Trump say that I agree and disagree with in varying amounts too though, but neither that I agreed with as much as RFK.
Yep my main is on MG and the amount of political spamming in Trade is irritating.
All you can do is report them where you see it. It is a reportable offense.
It never fails to amuse me how people on the right are so butthurt about how Harris got the nomination. You’d think it would be the Democrats who were upset, since she didn’t technically run in the primaries, but they’re all pretty happy with her.
Exactly, I never said that being gay, trans or whatever is political, I said that the LGBTQ group is. The reason they made that group is to have greater political representation.
Exactly.
There’s never been a situation where we, as voters, have any sort of independent vote on VP.
In fact, the system we have now is significantly better than the system that existed up until the passage of the 12th Amendment (where the VP was whomever the runner-up was in the Presidential election).
Ok, that would have been a massive storm of ug if trump was the VP with Biden.
All they would do is fight xD
