How would YOU fix the faction "imbalance"?

Only those of us that have been around since before BC.

We should have had ogres instead of Blood Elves.

The Horde might actually be a Horde and not a teaparty of poncy elves

How would I fix imbalance on factions?

Give alliance over powered High elves and murlocs. And Horde can have Ogres and Vulpera.

Zandalari racials are not that good tbh. They got nerfed or fixed on ptr and launched as a not particularly good heal

Don’t get me wrong, I know there are die hard PVE players that will never consider spending time in PvP. I used to be one. Kinda still am, I’m curious what I missed out on being PvE exclusive for the first ~10 years, but with an Alliance that’s lacking the will/skill to fight back why bother trying it out now?

There was a time when you found a fairly equal spread on both factions. Not Alliance chock full of casual PVE exclusive players, and Horde with a monopoly on high skill cap PVP players and high end PVE progression players.

It’s just weird to me.

This and Worgen Paladins, and Worgen Night Elves.

and Gnome Paladins.

As a Mechagnome fan, I recognize the popularity of Vulpera is going to crush the popularity of Mechagnomes worse than the difference between Zandalari and KulTirans.

Oh its still a good heal. It is best favored for classes that can ignore damage or break away from it. Druids, Paladins, Rogues, even Mages make great use of this ability as they got a way to quickly get back into the fight.

It’s not perfect but it does give tick health. It can give 100% health, or a good chunk. Getting PvP is a different story; but a single stun can give you enough time to at least get 25% health back.

i would be ok with that

i don’t think so, i would you assume a faction like the horde, most of barbarian/tribal/shamanistic people would want some evil blood sucking vampires?

there is indeed some bulky forest trolls that i would love.

mecha-goblins would be freaking amazing tough

Do you post that in the Classic forum too, or do you refrain because you know you would be shouted down almost instantly?

Thats just how the classic forums are. I wouldn’t dare suggest removing horde vs alliance in classic though.

the AoE silence from BE was massive for mythics and + in legion, and the troll racial i know had guilds at times stacking them.

(if i remember correctly out of a 20 man mythic team for world firsts 16 were trolls, but i might be mistaken)

I mean, it is kind of up to the alliance to pick up some of the pieces, but we really took a hit when guild faction transfers became a thing.

From personal experience the alliance could definitely use more communication, teamwork, healers, and an overall better attitude. But I fear it could be too late for the most part, how with 15 years into a game do you just… you know get good noob?

Yeah. Notice that most of the supporters are posting on Alliance characters*, which is why I think Ogres - if introduced - should be an Alliance race.

The general sentiment among Horde players is: “Why would the Horde, often lampooned as the home of big dumb races, want the biggest, dumbest race of them all?”

*The few Horde supporters are posting over and over and over and over and over again. That Troll Hunter accounts for 20% of the thread volume all by himself - 150 out of 778 posts.

You make it sound like the Alliance has been the underdog for years though; Alliance being outnumbered is a very new thing, it only started this expansion. For the first 14 years of WoW’s history, Alliance was the overpopulated faction. BfA is the first time EVER that there have been more Horde players than Alliance players.

But, as you correctly point out, the issue is one with the Alliance community. The Alliance playerbase does nothing but complain, no matter how many advantages they get. In fact, they DENY the existence of every advantage, and demand more advantages instead.

Alliance gets:
*Better racials
*Bonus rewards
*They always win, in the storyline
*First crack at content (both War Fronts, as well as Heroic Arathi, were first available to the Alliance - by design)

Blizzard continues to bend over backwards to favor the Alliance, yet the Alliance playerbase does NOTHING but complain about how unfair everything is and how the developers are out to get them.

It’s no wonder that people continue to leave the Alliance, with that kind of culture of constant negativity and paranoia.

In pvp maybe I dont pvp that much but in the raid there are almost 0 times where is it useful be age people are either taking ticking damage causing it to break instantly or they are not on danger of dying in the immediate future so they can dps and a healer had time to get to them.

Sivara-everyone taking ticking damage so you never get more than one tick of the heal and it ramps up so the first tick is small
Blackwater - the only people that die either have the dot or get 1 shot by people not soaking
Radiance - it’s useful if you get hit by a tornado and there are a few seconds left before the damage pulse after you land but that’s it.
Ashvane - people die to burst damage fro. Bubbles hitting boss or rot damage if they have a bubble. Again making g the heal only heal for 1 tick.

The rest are the same except queens court where it is use able.

Can it be used to do hps on most fights? Yes
Will that hps make a tangible difference to the fight? No

I was solely speaking of the playerbase, as gameplay and player participation does not equal story driven outcomes… other wise the alliance would not exist by tbc or wrath based on pvp. (Excluding reliable wins in AV.)

If I had one thing to complain about in story it would be that the consequences of the story do not reflect in game time… but that really does go for both factions.

Play what you prefer, and try and make your faction better while you do it

Sethrak as Alliance AR. As the Worgen “counterpart”. And maybe give them druid as one of their classes. (But I won’t be complaining if they were to go Horde… :woman_shrugging: Beggars can’t be choosers)
Worgen paladins.

Oh hell no, the horde got the first two warfronts with guaranteed weapons. The first time, we got upset and the second time was so bad that THAT was when Ion came in with "… uh, we’re going to give you a bee mount. "
The Alliance, when it wins, wins off screen. No one here knew that the Alliance canonically won both warfronts until a mention at Blizzcon.
Did you learn by the Alliance beating you out of both warfronts? No, you heard some guy say “Well, in canon the Alliance won both”,

People leave the Alliance because the active player scene (and guild scene) has been horde for quite awhile now, to the point even Ion calls it a serious problem. Check out his many interviews on Forbes and stop trying to rewrite history.

that certainly hasnt been the case for the raid scene, the swing started in cata but WoD and legion cemented it.

Archimonde had people changing to goblins in droves do to the rocket jump and as mentioned before the BE racial was amazing for Mythic+ last expansion. with the troll racial being stacked on any and all dps for mythic raids. (which is funny because people thought all casters/healers were going to have to be dwarves on the expansion launch but blizz nerfed the OP part of the dwarf racial very quickly, then left the horde ones untouched)

the writing has been on the wall for awhile, not just this expansion.
