People are complaining that Blizzard is not going to FIX “faction imbalance” next expansion.
But… how would YOU fix it?
It is easy to whine, but I have not seen a single reasonable idea of how to promote the Alliance side to be more appealing to new players.

Leave Mechagnome racials unnerfed.

Stop giving all the “cute” races to horde. Vulpera are the final nail in that coffin.
Give humans their old EMFH back.
Give KT the option of the skinny model.
Allow Night Elf Paladins.
Perhaps bring Sethrak to the Alliance. I think this would offset the Vulpera pop imbalance that’s coming somewhat. Mechagnomes are not even close to an equal trade.
These are just some off the top of my head.

Turn off Racials for PvP or PvE instanced content. Offer free faction transfers.

Kill all the Alliance, so there’s only one and there’s no need for a balance anymore.

End the faction war, create PvP splinter groups for the main factions, and allow cross faction grouping.

This’ll probably just be evidence for why I’m not a dev or planner, but:
Lock individual servers from creating more of a certain faction if the local population imbalance reaches excessive limits (like, 10:1)

Wouldnt it ruin the whole point of Warcraft?

Stop halfassing Alliance content. Even putting gnome hate aside, Mechagnomes and Vulpera are not remotely comparable and it is ridiculous someone thought it was fair to release them together.

I would just get rid of the faction lines. They claim it wouldn’t be hard to do, so there goes the biggest hurdle imo. I don’t care about the whole “WARcraft” thing, I’ve never felt like Alliance vs Horde was that important.

I’d end the factions. Every race would just be like Pandas. You could just pick whatever race you liked and play with whoever.

Well, Warcraft is the core of this game.
Warcraft and World of Warcraft are both about war of the faction…
It is like playing Soccer and saying that you dont care what side you play on, so all players would play together against empty space to score a goal.

I still don’t understand where this ‘imbalance’ is coming from as the populations are evenly split.

I’ve played WoW for 10+ years without really caring what side I play on, so it’s certainly possible.

First 2 steps are to convert kul tiran to vrykul and void elves to high elves. Then you do what the devs did when alliance was killing the horde all day, nerf all horde racials and buff all alliance. Eventually the top raiders and min-maxers will migrate to the alliance, just like they moved to the horde.

Ending factions would cause us to lose something that we have had since before world of warcraft even existed.
Instead how about they give mirror racials to both sides (up the races that suit them best) and offer free transfers for a limited time. Each race could then have 2 racials they can choose between giving more choice to players.

No more than an endless war that from a war standpoint would have killed off most of the populations of the races involved. When faced with cosmic horrors, titans, demonic invasions, etc it makes little sense for these groups to kill each other over and over.
From a story standpoint, there is little more you can do that is interesting in terms of Horde and Alliance going to war again for an xpac. End the war and you can make bigger stories instead of one story split in the middle for each faction

That’s a false equivalency. You may feel that way, but just as many people don’t. Not really the same thing because PvP is not an important part of WoW, it’s always been focused on raids. Soccer there is literally just 2 teams against each other.
WoW has mercenary mode already in PvP, which already makes the Alliance vs Horde part moot.

Or make racials simply cosmetic.

You mean like Warcraft 3 did? There is no Alliance or Horde in that game. There are 4 playable factions, Humans, Orcs, Night Elves and Undead. If “factions” are so important to you then just use the Covenants from Shadowlands. They could even make it so each expansion the factions change to new things based on what the expac is about.
