In the realm of possibility iâd say.
- Paladin
- Shaman
- Druid
As most likely to least likely, and Warlock shouldnât even be an option as the history theyâve seen their Blood Elf cousins go through should be a strong deterrent to as such.

Thatâs what I was thinking.
Given that Wildhammers lean Shamanistic, I figure High Elves COULD go that route. Perhaps even some didâŚat some pointâŚas part of looking for a cure for the magic addiction. But that last bit is head-canonny â so until we get some kind of release like a novel or an announcement, itâs got no weight.
Yeah no Warlock for High Elves either. It starts to invalidate a major reason why they split with the Blood Elves in the first place.
Same.
Yeah of those restricted classes, that list makes sense. Paladin is guaranteed (my opinion), while Shaman is a high possibility, druid not so much, and then things like Warlock are not even on the realm of possibility.
So that would make the collective group of High Elves here in a way kinda match the different alliance aligned groups. Got mages with the Dalaran group, hunters and such with just about every group, some Paladins for groups that have been in human lands a really long time, and then potential Shamans coming from that lodge way up in the Hinterlands. The Loch Modan one could potentially also have shamans or just more hunters and warriors given their proximity to Ironforge.
From there, what about the old elf navy? If I recall, the Night Elf one isnât in the best of shape right now. The Stormwind isnât either. I think the main naval might of the Alliance is still with the Kulâtirans, even after the losses with Nazjatar.
But in Wrath, we had a bunch of naval help from the Silver Covenant.
Think they still have a decent amount of ships? Forget whether there are enough crew to crew said shipsâŚjust do they have a lot of ships? Enough to where a possible new hub for them should be near water? Or should we just see some of their ships occasionally docked in Stormwind?
I mean based on Wrath of the Lich King, it seems that the majority of the fleet from Quelâthalas would obviously be with the Blood Elves, no question, but it seems like not ALL of it isâŚand not an overwhelmingly large enough percentage to prevent the Silver Covenant from pursuing active military engagements.
Iâm not sure how my post warranted your edgy overly dramatic sass. Calm down lol
Itâs not my fault you read one part of my post while conveniently ignoring the fact that when I refer to the horde, Iâm refering to the horde who participated in the genocide, and (obviously) not every single member of the horde.
No amount of your ridiculous behavior covers this. Take a chill pill for gods sake Unreal.
Never thought of it like that but I do find the High Elves are poised to have a great friendship with the Night Elves / playing off the same personality / moral / goals and themes. So I could see that.
Yeah I do support HE shamans to a great extent. I just have a hard time thinking they should get Shaman, Paladin, and Druid.
To that extent I think they should miss Druid. I do support NE Paladins also though. Not that it factors into it but in a way Alliance would then have 2 Elf Paladin races, and an Elf shaman race. Iâm a bit conflicted if I would want BE shamans, I donât see why not but I also donât think it makes sense like it does for the Quelâdorei the same way I donât think warlocks make sense for HEs.
I agree with the first two obviously. But I think adding Druid is doing too much, and would make them arguably too popular a choice. 2 Elf Druid races to the Hordes 0? I think just chill on asking for Druids but thatâs just me.
I really donât like the idea of BE Druids or BE shamans either. The same way I wouldnât like the idea of Alliance High Elf Warlocks. So I really donât wanna play the âwell give those classes to BEs tooâ game.
All in all I think shamans and Paladins make the most sense like you said, so we agree on that.
The horde is ahead by one druid. the horde has 9 shaman, counting pandas, and the alliance has 5 counting pandas. Alliance has 5 paladins and horde has 3. So they are only 2 behind the alliance on the class that started out as alliance, compared to the alliance being behind 4 shaman.
So nelf and helf could get pally, and helf could possibly get shaman as well. I wouldnât push for helf druids if they give druids to dwarves with the wildhammer customization, but I would love to play a helf druid.
I for one donât think classes need to be extended to races to balance them between factions. Like, Iâd rather Orcs not be given paladins to get us closer to an equilibrium.
I thought Tuaren paladins were a mistake, still do.
Well the horde has 4 extra shaman compared to the 2 extra pallies alliance have. They also have an extra druid.
Which I donât mind adding more to Alliance. Like Wildhammer Druids you brought up or what have you. I guess my issue is just all being added to one race, one that in theory will be popular anyways.
My own preference would be helf shaman and druids and for nelves to get pallies. But thatâs just me.
I would be fine with that, I do want NE Paladins myself.
Though I know a lot of HE fans banking on Thalassian Paladins on Alliance.
Thing is with what you just said, it keeps that class for the BEs who are of Quelâthalas and if HEs on Alliance need to break away from the narrative that is Quelâthalas and the Sunwell, perhaps Paladin is the class that gets cut here between these 3.
I would very much like this as well. Alliance are short a druid race anyways at the moment.
I would also like to see Night Elves have access to the Paladin class. Moreover, if Blizzard ever adds racial customization to classes, that could make such a Paladin truly unique if it uses the soft blue light of Elune rather than the standard yellow light that Paladins currently have. Iâd love for Night Elven priests to have the same soft blue light for their holy spells as well.
Taken a step further, Iâd be ecstatic if Void Elves got void themed Paladins too!
Yeah them going more nature based is a dream of mine. I wonât be upset if they get pallies instead of druids, it would make plenty of people happy, I just personally would prefer a helf druid over a paladin and also really love the idea of helf shaman.
Iâm just in favor of adding these kinds of options when they make sense. Nelf paladins have been shown to make sense, we so we be able to play them. Blood Elf shaman/druids? Hard no from me
Not blood elf shaman and druids, high elf shaman and druids. High elves could possibly turn more towards nature and element based magics to distance themselves from blood elves more, and the sunwell.
It would play into the narrative of High Elves and Night Elves complimenting each other in both theme, and personality too along the lines of Nightborne and Blood Elf. That for me Iâd like to see.
Think Xiabala but instead of DI Dwarves it could have been NEs and HEs against the arcane themed Horde Elves. Just small Easter egg things for flavor I guess is what I see in that regard.
Though iirc the Alliance side Shandris didnât care for the Void Elves or didnât seem to. Iâm okay with that remaining skeptical, but Iâd like to see HEs set up as VE friends too.
I wouldnât mind the void elves just slipping back into the void.
Good riddance.
I think druid gets the cut.
It makes too much sense for High Elf paladins. Further, there are already Silver Covenant High Elf NPCâs who are Paladins.
Frankly, I would love for them to add this as soon as possible, predominantly for possible Night Elf pallies but primarily for Tauren Sun Druids and Zandalari Prelates.
Not a lot of people realize that the above 2 are technically paladin equivalents and are not actual Paladins. Their powers mechanically are so similar that for in-game purposes, they are represented as Paladins when in fact they are not.
High Elves getting along with Night Elves would be a possibility, but I see the stronger connection being with the Wildhammers at Aerie Peak.
Hence why I am more in support of Shamans (Wildhammers have them) and less so for druids (which are a night elf thing).
The concept i hate thinking about the most is how they wasted what could of been a cool niche in playing up the âVoidâ aspect and decided to combine that unique niche with their absurd hesitance in giving us High Elves.
Like imagine if instead of Void Elves with 0 history in lore, Locus Walker introduced us to a group of Void Ethereals and convinced them to join the Alliance with Alleriaâs help.
We could of gotten to explore an unexplored concept like the Void being used for good, AND gotten to explore the criminally unexplored Alliance High Elves.
They wasted 2 story avenues for 1 lackluster âcompromiseâ.
