High Elf Customization Thread (Legacy of the Quel'Dorei)

Im still trying to keep my hopes and expectations tempered but I still hope we get a helf AR in Midnight or even sometime in TWW since BFA and I think Legion iirc had AR released during the expacs not just at the beginning. I’ll spend at least 80$ on race changes if that happens, and I have many friends who’ll spend about that too. It’s money blizz could be making!

I just hope we also get more customization options since dracthyr and earthen have loads. I’d love the tattoos, hair styles, jewelry, body and facial scars, make up, and hair colors just to name a few.

I’ll be interested to see how they implement helves in the character creation if they do. Are they going to just continue to have it set up how it currently is, or do something like BG3 where you pick ‘elf’ and then pick the faction and subrace for example. That would be a lot of work but it is something I’ve thought they should have done as far back as tbc.

that’s the problem.

You could make one. I’d love to play dryads and centaurs but I don’t think it will happen since it would mean blizz would need to figure out how flight paths, mounts like ground and flying mounts work for four legged characters. People who make these mega threads for the different races are passionate about it, so if you’re passionate enough then do it!

Then go fix it

I have already created some topics talking about centaurs and allied races, but I don’t understand much about editing, creating models, or anything like that, and I’m not very good at creating extensive topics.

Honestly? No one helps much to promote this (centaur) idea, so I eventually don’t help much in spreading the idea of the High Elves as allied race.

Given four-legged races could be their own mounts, they could fix part of it by just not allowing them to use ground mounts, but flight would be a big problem for them. But otherwise, I think it would be great to have playable centaurs or dryads or keepers of the grove!!

I’ll give your threads support and I also am not good with editing and formatting stuff on the forums so I feel you.

No one is asking you to support those of us who want high elves. If you don’t want them then no need to support it, you could even mute this thread so you don’t see it. It does seem more people, or at least the most vocal people do want helves than they do centaurs from my experience.

The more I think about it, the more I like it. A centaur race with whatever customizations it would have, but also have the possibile options to look like a dryad or keeper? Interesting stuff

TWW will add Solo Queue RBG, maybe getting the elite set will be easier with this new mode.

Make a megathread and just layout your thoughts on it. (you’re welcome to use my threads general framework if you want, maybe check my Furbolg thread)

You don’t always need pictures or TL3 to do a good one, just go at it seriously and look around online to see if anyone has mocked anything up. Or get screenshots of current things and go from there.

Let me know about it and I’ll add it to my list of threads.

Even if they did I wouldn’t get it. My days of pvp are long behind me. The years have taken their toll on me both mentally and physically. I don’t have the mental wherewithal or the manual dexterity and reaction speed that I had 20 years ago. On top of that in the state I am in now pvp is very stressful to me and stress is the last thing I need healthwise.

Honestly, I don’t even really raid anymore. Not like the old days. Now if I raid at all it’s either once a tier in LFR for the final boss kill quest that often is part of the story, or my guild is kind enough to carry me through knowing full well my performance will be sub par compared to the other players.

Even if this set was the mythic pve set, I wouldn’t be able to to get it until it was soloable several expansions later.

Yesss. For now it’s cleraly they just using the 2 different models, but really hoping Midnight brings some unification of hairstyle choices for VE/BE

They added a lot of recolors to that staff like a patch ago! I really hope it’s made available to players soon-ish (hey, could be a great Midnight pre-launch event reward!)

It would be difficult to make an AR that already exists as a playable race. See Blood Elves.

If you want to have playable Alliance Blood Elves, be clear about it.

What’s hilarious is this is basically why the Kirin Tor and the SC turned against the Sunreavers and led to the Purge: Sunreaver agents allowing Horde forces to use the Dalaran Portals to sneak the Divine Bell.

So, managing a portal is only a big deal when you want to XD.

The “The Silver Covenant is Neutral crowd” will never not be funny.

I was thinking, for helf pallies I wonder if we’d get a (hopefully updated version) of the Quel’dorei steed for their pally mount or if it would be a lynx. I kinda would like the former but wouldn’t object to the latter.

They have a red charger that needs to be updated but you can use the Class Hall ones just as well.

Loyal to Garrosh and against the Sunreaver’s own orders (Aethas). They were zealots… much like a lot of “helfers”, weird term, I read it as Half-Elf. You’re free to play the MoP Remix for a refresher on these events.

The Horde was in conflict with itself during these events, Lor’themar considered leaving the Horde for the Alliance and due to Jaina’s impulsivity lost the Kingdom of Quel’thalas as an ally.

I think you are missing the issue here: Aethas own inability to keep an eye on his group is what sparked the Purge, in fact, is the knowledge that he knew something was up but said or did nothing (He shifts unconfortably) is the reason why he feels guilty and keeps trying to make it up to the KT, and Jaina.

Also you miss the point I was actually making; the KT under Jaina takes this action as an Horde attack, as the Sunreavers unable to be neutral in the conflict be it willingly, or by corruption. Using the portals is an act of war that marks them as compromised.

So why isn’t the High Elf opening portals so the Alliance can fight the Horde in Arathi not considered alliance sided.

Again, the point is not how delicate the political situation was and how Jaina blew up any opportunity for the BE to leave the horde and return to the alliance; the point is that High Elves and the Silver Covenant are, and continue to act, in relation to their loyalty to the Alliance.

Because Dalaran also opens up portals for Horde. Sunreavers are Dalaran citizens and are thus Neutral. Not all Sunreavers were from Silvermoon, many of them were Dalaran citizens. Jaina even makes this distinction when you do the purge.

Khadgar does… etc.

It’s a faulty point to begin.

I don’t deny that, I just don’t agree with that they are a separate race from Blood Elves and therefore do not see the need for something that already exists.

If you are plain and request for playable Alliance Blood Elves who did not follow their Prince/King’s decree to be called Sin’Dorei, then there would be fewer arguments and fewer people would protest.

The issue then becomes for everyone is, you get a Horde race, what do the Horde get? I would offer Night Elves.

EDIT: Furthermore, the idea that High Elves are coming with Midnight for Alliance underscores that problem. Asking for the Void Embrace to be changed to an Arcane appearance, again that undercuts that the Horde don’t get anything. It shows you guys want to play a Horde core race on Alliance. Blizzard has been consistent that both sides “get” something when it comes to customizations about races and subraces. When the Man’ari were added Horde were given stronger customizations on their Trolls and Tauren. Orcs are being given ways to distinguish their clans. There’s an equilibrium that Blizzard’s development team appears to hold as part of their mission. If it came to pass, a “Void Elf” option would appear for Blood Elves using the “Arcane customization” for Blood/High Elves.

You can’t control each individual, blaming a whole group of people based on the decision of one individual is pretty mad. Otherwise all of the Void elves should already be considered evil because the Void elves couldn’t keep an eye on the one who rebelled and fought the player and Alleria. Aethas didn’t know anything more than Jaina knew, he found out after the fact, and didn’t want to say something that may lead to the Sunreavers being harmed.

Arguing the uses of portals isn’t arguing that the Silver Covenant was some active and present force in the fourth war… because we know they weren’t. If your only examples of “present” Silver Covenant members boil down to a single portal holder in an expansion that is literally centered on the faction conflict, you’re gonna have to do better than that.

We know what the Silver Covenant looks like when they’re mobilized, but in the fourth war they never participated in any assault, or were ever organized into any force.

~ To respect the thread, I’ll leave it at that.
