Is it considered AFK for Grinding on harpies in AV?
Is this bannable in doing so if I’m level 55 am I allowed to grind on them?
If enough people report you. Yes you will be actioned for not doing what the team wants.
I don’t understand why don’t they remove them if they can cause you to be banned?
You joined a BG. You should be doing BG things. Not soaking up free honor while not participating in the BG. Absolutely reportable as non-participation. This can lead to suspensions and bans if reported and actioned enough. Seen it plenty of times.
Same with dungeons and raids. Don’t join a group with the intention of not doing that group’s activities.
You can grind xp anywhere.
Simple, imo.
At least for the alliance i believe there are some quests you get in av that involve the harpies and a cave
If someone reports you for AFK, and you’re not engaging in PVP activity, then yes, that timer can tick out and remove you from the battleground. If need too, kill some Harpies, but work with your team in the battleground, don’t just do something that doesn’t work as a team.
Yes there are quests to kill the harpies and get a banner from that cave. Also yes people will spam report you for doing those instead of racing to Drek. Yes you will get a suspension for it if enough people report you. They should just remove them, and the quests in there because people just screech to report you as soon as you try to do them.
Yes, people may report them. No, they will not get a suspension unless they have a history of being AFK in matches over a longer period of time. The tinfoil theories of ‘enough reports = suspension’ unfortunately is a narrative that some people seem to want to push right now.
You can certainly use the in-game suggestion feature or post in the PVP forums to provide that sort of feedback.
Being reported alone won’t get you action, foks can spam report until the cows come home, but nothing will happen if you didn’t break any rules.
Blizzard has even confirmed if you arent participating in the fashion the team deems appropriate such as questing in AV then yes they will uphold the suspensions. I know you and Perl have seen them confirm this in this forum section before…
Feel free to clarify that in your previous post if you want. But thank you for agreeing with what I said. It takes a history of AFKing in many matches, not just 'if enough people report you".
Do you mind linking said post?
No. Im not going to search the forums to find it. You can either believe me or not. That fact remains that if enough people deem the way you are playing a BG is not appropriate even if its playing objectives then yes you will be actioned. Eventually someone will confirm what I am saying is true.
There I stopped being lazy for you
You’ve said a post on this forum. I want said link to said post from this forum. Not some easily altered screenshot.
Whatever man. Be obtuse then and pretend Vrak didnt say that.
You understand that image actually supports what we’re saying, right?
It does NOT say that ‘if enough people report you you will be actioned’. It’s not from a single match.
So again, thank you for supporting what I said. Clarity is super-important when these sorts of things come up. Some people like to think that if enough people report you in a single match…BOOM…account action. That’s simply not the case thankfully.
I think you need to reread it. Because it does confirm what I stated near the end in that final paragraph. No I’m not talking about automated bans. I never mentiond that. Im sure Vrak will come along at some point today and reconfirm it. You guys can stop trying to argue with me now and wait for that.
Uh…that the actions are not automated? Not sure how you’re reading it differently, but that’s okay. I’m not arguing with you either. I’m thanking you for agreeing and providing supporting info.
Doing those quests will not get you in trouble. They do not take that long and as others have said being afk has to be from a nunber of battlegrounds. Not just one or two.
Plus these quests give a nice reward for pvp
