Yes, it has brought back twinks. But at what sacrifice? Are we gaining more subs from twinks or are we losing more subs because of twinks? No I do not have stats just a general question that I wonder about.
…not in my case, I want to beat the biggest, badest and ugliest horde on the team…
Time played metric is what matters, in areas where they count.
Levelers are aiming for end game as fast as possible, so the needs/options will be focused on end game metrics for that population.
yes, I understand this. I have said the same thing many times. Its when you mix 2 different play styles in entry level battlegrounds that there is a problem. Its a problem that keeps getting discussed because well, people feel there is a problem. It leads to resentment and possible not playing pvp or even possible leaving the game for a better experience somewhere else.
I could see your point if BGs were the only method of leveling, or if it took forever to level through pvp. I lost 2 BGs just now and gained a full level.
Correct, which is one of the large problems that separation addressed. One playstyle that wants to engage in casual battles to break from the monotony of questing can do so with others who are doing the same. Those who want to camp a bracket and play whack-a-mole in the graveyard and brag about how awesome they are could do so. These two didn’t clash and cause issues. Win/win for everyone.
no they are not the only way of leveling, but they are a way for leveling. One that obviously gives great exp. Some people like to pvp and might have bought the game to pvp. But if they feel its broken, they will just walk away.
The same cudgel effect which may have been used a decade ago is not a necessary option anymore. Understanding the nature of the issue + understanding the root cause will allow direct attention to the issue.
As documented on the various adjustments which have been made within the lower brackets in BFA. Items and statistics which regulate the power within our characters are being tuned to bring us all in line with each other.
Keeping the population together within instanced PVP is a more important metric compared to a 10-20% difference in accessible character power IMO.
For those people, class balance (or lack of) could be enough to dislike pvp
could be, there are multiple problems going on. One fix at a time though.
*fixed for you
But statistically this may not be the case at all.
Maybe the majority of new players first PVP experience is done at 120 once they have leveled their boosted character?
Does the BFA package sell more often than the basic WoW download?
From a consumer standpoint, which option is the obvious better choice?
thats a lot of ifs ands or buts. So what you are saying is a new player that buys wow, automatically uses the boost instead of playing content. That might be true for some, but not all. Fact, there are new players that pvp. Its undeniable. How many we do not know, but there are some. Do you agree that there are new players that pvp at lower levels?
Time played metric is what matters.
Comparing a “Twink” to a leveler who will spend 1-2 hours within the various brackets is simple mathematics.
Retention is focused on end game content for the “leveling player type”.
After all, it is where they want to get as soon as possible right?
Of course there are. Not everyone uses their boost immediately. Even if they did, it’s irrelevant because people like to dip into other classes to find their niche. A class that seems fun to start with may grow to have a rotation that feels off.
Also, as it’s been well documented, different playing motives are at hand. It’s the facts that matter, not flawed/fake math used to grasp at straws.
What if it was AI who camped this GY?
I have been GY farmed WAY WAY WAY more often in “leveling” bgs than at endgame
Yeah, I think that post was meant to be a joke. I cannot even remember the last time I saw GY farming at 120. It’s common to see some guy with glowing weapons with a name like “Expartgamer” in a guild with a name like “Dun wurry we r pro” doing it in leveling brackets. The evidence is undeniable.
That time played metric.
why not put the “time played metric” people with other "time played metric people, and not simple levers casually pvping there way through the leveling process? Instead we have people that are decked out and devoted to actually preying on new players/levelers just wanting to have a fun time.
