Well, I can say that I never did any late-WotLK raiding either, because it started to get over the top with mechanics. But even, say, Ulduar, which I eventually did pug regularly in WotLK Classic (as a healer or range dps)… yeah, a lot of pugs blew up on many of the more complicated fights because it’s stupid with the mechanics too. But yaknow, there was plenty of other content at max level, so it didn’t matter so much.
What is there to do at 40 in SoD? Gnomer. Perhaps they should make it assessable for the entire player base, or they should have come up with more content at 40 so maybe people wouldn’t start to complain until later in the phase (when folks wouldn’t complain as loudly about nerfs either).
Retail players unable to discern why vanilla players dislike a raid with more mechanics than final raid of the xpac. When asked why they don’t just play the version of the game based around hard content local tourist’s only had distant stares or a low mumble about how “mythic too hard.”
Devs still unsure why vanilla base game is losing players like a retail expansion based around two week tourist’s.
Here here!! More fights like Firemaw where the raid has to awkwardly position and LOS to wait out a debuff! Or another fight like Chromaggus where you hug the wall and have to LOS to avoid some debuffs! Or maybe another sweet fight like Ebonroc where 80% of the raid just stands there and does their dps rotation! Or maybe another fight like Flamegor where 80% of the raid just stands there and does their dps rotation! THESE are the classic fights that SoD players crave!
Nothing in sod is retail or remotely close to it mechanic wise. The most complex fight is broken down like this:
click button to stop bombs (dps/ healer responsibility)
kill the adds that do nothing if killed ( anyone can kill them)
kite boss (tank)
Cleanse (anyone with cleanse)
So again I say he’s bad. And anyone who thinks this is remotely hard should probably stop raiding if they can’t comprehend or deal with 1 possibly 2 mechanics. It has nothing to do with calling people names. But sometimes the truth hurts and has to be spoken. Yes, it’s not classic but again it was never intended to be, but it’s a far shot from mythic raiding.
You seem to forget that SoD is season 2. SoM was season 1.
We have an entire season of evidence that it is possible to improve the designs of raid bosses in a way that still feels like classic. All of those bosses you mentioned were improved in SoM in a way that I enjoyed.
Honestly no. The problem with expansions was invalidation of the old world and constant gear bloat. They can turn it around this time. Alot of classic stuff sucked.
You don’t like the group talent compositions yet the runes have done exactly that. Meme specs are now viable. Should we delete the runes? I think you just want to play classic + similar to turtle wow. And tbh dude that exists. This is trying to be something different.
never played retail past wrath if retail mechanics just means slightly challenging mechanics i’m all for it. personally crowd pummeler is my favorite boss. always funny seeing people get knocked off.
These are not real statistics… The ironforge.pro and Wille video showed how many cleared and did naxx. I should have known when you posted me a statistics link to some idiot who just stated nonsense. Lmfao
I don’t think your statistics from original Vanilla are going to hold much of any weight here. Even the worst players today would run circles around most players back in 2006
One more thing to note on this topic. Som was a failure. Sod is a success. It’s just that simple man the market for retail lite is just better than a classic +. I’m here for it. Tbh classic + would suck coming from blizzard. Turtle wow did a great job. Check that server out if you want real classic + dude.
