I see several posts here about a script being run on affected characters, but was the “boost” flag actually disabled from Gear Upgrade in the first place?
I came back after 6 months to pick up on my Heritage alt and just used the Upgrade now. Even worse than losing the character would be to get all the way to 50 and find out it was wasted – and there doesn’t even seem to be a way to check if you’re still eligible

I know that I used the gear update on my Worgan and my Gnome, & they both got and did the heritage quest after the gear update, my Blood Elves already had it, but still get the quest. My Void Elves & Nightborne already had it as well. So I am not sure how it is for allied races, but the regular races don’t seem to have any problems with the gear update.
Been checking in on this thread for the past week because I’ve been experiencing the same issue despite meeting the criteria on my Dark Iron Dwarf, and as of now I’m still not having the quest pop up since taking the gear upgrade.

I submitted a ticket and got an automated blowoff the first time
2nd response, someone answered and suggested putting in a bug report, which is useless. I’ve submitted tons of bug reports over the last 10 years and zero have been actioned. Even the playtest forums show their feedback reports, the same bugs that crop up in live were raised and ignored months prior.
What do I actually do here? Delete the character and start over? It sounds like no one is actually taking the step to put in a hotfix to disable this feature (or the boost) and people are continuing to get caught by it 2 months after.

Did you read any of the Blue posts throughout the thread? It seems that there are fixes going out. There are still some people who aren’t showing the quests, but there are things being done. Not all bugs are ignored. Just because a fix hasn’t gone out on any and all bugs doesn’t mean they’re being ignored. It only means that there is more going on than just what you’re seeing at face value.

Well, I’d recommend reading all of my posts in this thread, as you may have skipped ahead and are reading things that wouldn’t apply to you. As I noted on August 15th, a hotfix had already been implemented to prevent the Gear Update from causing the issue. Quoted below:
The script I refer to was a resolution for those who may have boosted before that change went in.
Your level 20 Nightborne should be fine once you level it to 50.

My Vulpera rogue is still not getting the quest.
He was 50 before this fix was applied, I have checked three times in the past few days and still nothing.
Thanks, Hotcupofrage. Our teams are looking into why some folks weren’t fixed with the resolution that went in already and working to find a resolution for the rest of the characters in this situation.
I don’t have any information at the moment, but I’ll pass along any updates I get.

i dunno if this is on topic for this thread or not, but in relation to heritage armors, ive had this abnormal issue with them on various toons.
ive collected over the course of time, the worgen set, ironforge dwarf set, dark iron dwarf set, LF draenei set, HM tauren, Kultirans i believe, and as of recently the Night Elf one ; not sure if i have any others.
Onto the case in point: while alt hopping around i will periodically get the quests for the night elf and worgen heritage quest lines even though theyve already been done an completed. So I of course just abandon it. but why does it pop up again if its been done at least once?
There was a thread about this not that long ago. It’s working as they want it to, apparently. The only thing you can really do is just complete that first quest so that it doesn’t keep auto-popping. What you can also do though, is make a post over in Quests or use the suggestion interface to try and get more attention brought to it that it should trigger something on your account to stop the auto-accept quest on subsequent characters once a set is earned.

Leveled a mechagnome monk to 50, no boosts, transfers, etc., other than the gear update (now I wish I never used it). Still do not have the heritage quest. Robomunk - Proudmoore
What I do is accept the quest, then go talk to the quest giver, don’t pick up the quest after that, just leave the exclamation point over their head, and the quest wont pop up again on that character.

Hopefully this can be fixed soon! Mine and my girlfriends nightborne are unable to get the heritage armour quest, meanwhile we got it just fine on our kul tirans.
I got the heritage armor today so if you’re still waiting you might want to check it out.
