Gear upgrade, heritage armor bug

Hi,

My Lightforged Draenei character didnt get the level 50 heritage armor quest. I believe due to using the gear upgrade. There are blue posts stating this wasn’t meant to happen. I was wondering if a fix will be implemented to restore the quest to affected players or should i just start him fresh? Not concerned either way but if a fix is coming ill wait.

Thanks

Yes unfortunately the new catch-up system they implemented is actually considered a boost by the game and as a result, locks allied races out of their heritage armour. Don’t know if blizz will ever address it or leave it :man_shrugging:

If you have feedback to give about the process, you need to post where it would be seen. Leave out the crude comment if you do. It’s not needed. It could be considered the same as actually saying the words it represents.

Can you clarify what was crude?

The closing sentence wasn’t really necessary. Something about a finger.

Oh that. But sometimes I like being crude.

Not really on the heaviest modded forum though?

Blizzard development does not do anything just to insult it’s player base, even if it is a bug.

Fair enough. It’s the GD in me you see. GD does terrible things to a person. :sob:

While I don’t have any specifics yet, that is the plan.

I am talking with a Game Master about this and there may be a solution eventually but at this moment the only option we have would be to create and level a NEW Night Elf to level 50 in order to get the armor.

The only thing I’m not sure of is whether or not the new alt would also need to reach Exaulted with Darnassus

Night Elves, being a normal, non-allied race, do NOT require leveling manually to 50. They can also be boosted without issue. You simply need a level 60 on your account and to have a Night Elf at 50+

You can also race/faction change to Night Elf.

So, any update on this ‘Fix’? If the designers were just going to reuse the same coding for boosting then they should have not been surprised that it would cause this issue. How many player want to go and level the same Allied race just to get the armor?

It’s rare that things like these that have sat unresponded to for any length of time to have an update that isn’t just the fix being pushed through. The Devs don’t come to this forum, and the Blues that post here have nothing to do with Bug resolutions. And let’s be real, the Devs are not very communicative.

If there hasn’t been anything pushed through in the hotfixes, the only likely update is that it’s still being worked on.

This bug has been posted a few times, and this is the only post were a Blue actually responded. Hoped they may have some news.

The problem with bugs is there just aren’t updates to offer. They’re bugs until they’re fixed. If they’re not fixed then the status remains the same. Even if Vrak pops back in, he’d not have any update to offer unless by sheer luck a hotfix is being queued up to be applied.

I was not even aware of this issue until I did some searching on another topic, and by then it was too late. Before the gear up grade there should be a statement that this would lock you out of Heritage sets for the time being. I have just stopped leveling my Dark Iron character.

Then that is something you should post about in either General Discussion and/or Achievements. Suggestions and feedback are not collected here. You would have to post in any other forum BUT Customer Support for the proper staff to be made aware of these things, as it’s the only forum where no data is collected.

You can also submit your feedback through the in-game interface as well.

I’m sorry you’ve gotten caught in this bug, but do keep an eye out if/when there is a fix pushed through. Until that happens, there’s not much that can be done save for people to continue to report that this is an issue. The more reports they have, the more data they have to work with to hopefully pin down what exactly is the cause and why it’s not working as intended.

There was a hotfix that was pushed at the end of July that should prevent folks who use the Gear Update from experiencing this issue.

The overall fix for the folks who had already used it had to be a DB resolution, which was completed August 2nd.

Do you have a character that hasn’t been able to receive the Heritage Armor quest, Ogdenir? I didn’t see any characters that you recently logged into that would qualify except for your Void Elf, and you already completed that quest from what I can see.

If it’s just your level 20 Dark Iron Dwarf character, you should be able to continue leveling the character.

I just used the feature for my Dark Iron shaman who still at level 20. I was only made aware of the issue from looking up what the Gear Up grade was, and seeing other players posting about the bug, but all those were from back last month with no updates. I wanted to know if this would still happen if I did level my Allied characters. I have some other Allied characters, but the Dark Iron set I wanted to have most glad that it was hotfixed.

Thank you for reply quickly to my concerns.
