hmm… the last Alteracs I did were about 80/20 in favor of Alliance… Should we now also complain that Alliance win all the Alteracs? /s
For pugs that is a straight up lie. Alliance easily lose 90-95% of AB and almost that many eots and wsg.
There is zero reason to play alliance now. That is why so many people are re-rolling horde
Yeah that is inaccurate. Pugs vs pugs, it is 60/40 at worst but most likely 50/50, if you are losing 90-95% it is likely just you. AV is 70/30 (or worse) in favor of ally.
You probably can’t even fathom how idiotic that sounds. Yes, I can single handedly lose or carry an entire team to victory. ![]()
Alliance players everywhere complain about the loss rate. It is the actual reason why alliance don’t queue and have given up on BG.
So stop lying. No one believes you and it makes you look silly.
Just hit 70 and I’ve been loving the H v H queueing. I usually play 3-5am ST and get queues of only 3-10 mins for BGs it’s pretty good
better than it was. Can’t wait for tbc rep pvp gear too!
I have tested alliance battlegrounds for the last two weeks doing NOTHING but pugs, no pre-mades at all and here it is:
Arathi Basin - 44 losses, 4 wins (90.9 % LOSS rate)
Eye of the Storm - 40 losses, 6 wins (85% LOSS rate)
Warsong Gulch - 30 losses, 5 wins (83% LOSS rate)
I have not done any Alterac Valley because I did not want the discord premades to skew results.
Anyone (including blizzard) claiming anywhere near 50/50 is flat out lying.
sure but i wasnt even complaining when horde a 99% win rate all throughout classic.
Yep I play both alliance and horde whitemane. que’ing both characters in pugs only on the same days I win on horde about 3-4x more often than alliance character. Most players on alliance are afk, and don’t care if they win they just give up at ANY competition. Private servers did a better job at handling these types of issues than Blizzard/activision does, it’s a joke.
yea and the horde just seem to say “get good” and they dont understand that half of our team is afk/dont care. im sure theyre seeing more afking with their faster queues but it will never be as bad as ally
they also just say “well you picked alliance” and push the blame on us for picking that faction, but then when people give them the same logic with queue times, all of a sudden they cry and complain enough to get blizzard to implement HvH bgs
Stop the stupid same faction battleground, I hate to play A Vs A games.
Hi Blizz. Hi gamers.
I will post my thoughts here despite a general culmination of reasons as to why I think it wont commit to the change I believe to be “in the spirit of the game.” I will not come back to add additional details, or defend what I say now which I believe to be the best for the game. This is my PoV and feedback.
I exclusively played classic for WSG, did not care for ranking meta, just played WSG for the team 10v10 that it is. I wanted to be the best priest, so I learned how to actually play from good people who have played premades in the past. I learned about free action potions, flash bombs, magic dust, all of this stuff that is in the game for a reason. Most people don’t even know what half of these items are, why they are good, when to use, or even care at all about consuming for bgs for that matter. At the start of BG release, I rushed my AV rep so I never had to step foot in there again. Premades or not, AV is not fun for me.
I would willingly wait 8-11 minutes on average with my guild leader, and whatever roster of private server gamers from our guild he brought in with us for that bg. I was nervous for each game, but excited. Would I be faster with dispels on my warrior in mid this time, PI the shaman when he calls for it, line up my cds to push with my team forward, winning the fight?
The first week of WSG being out, as horde we played against a great number of premades. The level of intensity in those premades can vary, but as we played longer together, as the months drew on, there was only 1 team we could not seem to beat on alliance. They would beat every other horde premade handily, every streamer you can think of that played classic would lose to this group because they were that good. Every time we lost to that team, I would go back to the drawing board and I would watch replays - analyzing my own play to get better and improve to beat this team. It is not without a payoff, either. In the last couple times we came across the “A team” variation of the squad we would lose to, I was able to predict where the druid was going to go, do the alliance gy jump (lower to above) while mounted, and catch him ahead of my rogue and warlock consistently. The first game I did this, I got 4-5 dispels off before my teammates connected, and luckily i got his fear ward off from his dwarf priest so we were able to use a flash bomb on him. As the damage flew in, we realized we might actually kill this damn raid boss. PI on the lock, death coil + shadowburn out of the flash bomb, rogue follows with kidney, and 11 painful seconds of unedited video time later, the unstoppable bear FC finally dies, and we get a cap on this team. However, we end up losing this game 2 - 3. They would remain the best team on NA alliance for another day.
Eventually, I swapped to alliance so I could insta queue with my friends in premades. I was sick of waiting 20 minutes at the end of classic, and ended up making the choice to come to alliance for insta queues with my friends. Most of these ppl i play with aren’t the ones that I have tryharded with in the past - these are IRL buddies who want to learn how to be sick at pvp on their own time, from me.
I could qq about how i had to wait all classic long for queues, and once i swapped for tbc, im now no longer allowed to premade with my friends, but that isn’t the point of this novel i wrote. I also do not care about same faction v same faction, we all win with queue times.
What upsets me is that I cannot simply queue up with my guild as a premade, as this change would do. The lifecycle of someone like me with no life, in a game like this, is to eventually teach completely new players how I think the game should be played, at a higher level. Removing the core functionality of 10 man queueing, and 15 man queueing, is completely against the grain of what WoW stands to be. Solo pubs SHOULD BE GETTING OWNED. This is an MMO.
If i didn’t get owned by a premade as a pug, i wouldn’t have wanted to premade. If i didn’t get owned by other premades as my premade, I wouldn’t have wanted to get better at playing other premades. The result? I feel I am the best priest in the world in premades, second to none, and still see ways to improve. Premades are endgame activities for pvpers even in tbc, all the engineering items support this playstyle. There are wargames that can be run, and you most definitely SHOULD once you are acceptably skilled at a bg. There are rated bgs in retail and these spawned from the idea of competitive BGS in CLASSIC and TBC.
Any good feedback comes with a plan of action, or solutions.
Blizzard, I recommend:
-Do not listen to everyone complaining about honor per hour. It does not matter. Do not change any honor values at this point.
-Keep same faction bgs. It is fine for both premades and pugs.
-Absolutely do NOT keep the premade changes in place. It is not only against original WoW development team vision, it is removing an endgame activity for PvPers in 3 months who are finished honor farming.
-Support and re-announce war modes for TBC. This will allow sweaty tryhard premades to eventually move to that 3-6 months from now.
TL;DR: Removing premade functionality effectively nullifies 11 months of my classic experience, invalidating what I have learned and enjoyed more than anything during any expansion of wow. If this goes through, I will never be able to play with the same 10 or 15 people FOR FUN 3-6 months from now when nobody cares about raw honor as much. My friends will never get to experience how to really play a BG ever again, robbing me of teaching what I have learned from my time in classic.
Thanks for attending my ted talk. I hope this doesn’t fall on blind eyes or deaf ears. Good morning.
In short…
premade x premade - ok
pug x pug - ok
premage x pug - never
right?
long read but i can say i do agree with you are saying i feel the same way about not being able to queue up with my friends i’ve made from classic.
Yeah… no. Just because you no life the game doesn’t mean somebody else paying the same fee as you should have a poor experience. Capping at 5 allows you to play with your premade, but gives pugs a chance. Either that, or make it premade vs premade, which I doubt you’d want anyway. They also need to start banning afkers more frequently, as soon as they know you’re a premade, everyone gives up.
Did you actually read his post? He loves premade vs premade games. He had a whole story about it.
I don’t agree 100% with his footnotes but I agreed enough with he said to give him a like. He explains well what it is like to play on a team and he wants to play better and better. You can’t really improve when always pugging especially when half the pug doesn’t care in the slightest about even playing.
At the very least an option of premade vs premade games or queue matching should exist. People who want to play more competitive PVP shouldn’t be told no or told they need to just play arenas which are a completely different playstyle from WSG (which is his favorite).
People say a lot of things, doesn’t make it true. A lot of premades say they want to face premades, until they face premades and aren’t pug stomping. Then they quit because it’s actually difficult. People are acting like premades are void, you can still queue up with 50% of a WSG.
It’s great without constant premades. Now fix AV. Thanks
So you are just choosing to not actually believe his long story about how he likes to play better because in your mind people are only the way you think they are. In your opinion people don’t want to play competitively on a team vs another team in a BG and they only want to play with (and carry) give ups, road fighters and fresh 70s. The types of people who don’t even belong in BGs at all. Got it.
Thankfully other people are properly reading and giving his post likes, not that any of it matters but I respect him for sharing his story.
Implementing a premade vs premade filter in regular queue would be perfect. I forgot to add that to my original post. I guess I lied and im posting an update to my feedback lol.
