Feedback: July 20-August 10 Same-Faction Battleground Test

A separate queue, or sorting of those who are queuing up, such that premades go against premades, would be the best solution, and many like me have asked for something like this for a while.

Pugs fight pugs
premades fight premades
War games for the best teams (invite through battle net)

Separate premade queue also opens the opportunity for any tier of organized guilds to add a PvP premade day for interested players. One of the best WSG warriors I played with was a casual dad gamer who would only be able to play for 4 hours max at night, but enjoyed high level premades. I do not advocate for premading vs pugs. If you read my post above, I tried to impart the feeling that it gets EXTREMELY boring owning pugs all day as a premade. You only end up looking forward to good games vs premades.

I love this game, I love premade wsg pvp, I think the solutions outlined here and in my above post are best case solutions such that everyone is happy. I love arena too, but it scratches a completely different itch. Well executed plans as a group of ten people fighting ten other organized people is a certain kind of dopamine that I wish everyone could enjoy.

TL;DR premade locked queues is a good idea. do a test run with team queue sizes, maybe solo, 2-3, 5s, and 10s. I love pvp.

Thanks <3. I like your goggles

Dear Blizzard, queuing as alliance is unbearable. The only advantage to being alliance in pvp was faster queue times, now which horde have also. Most good PVP players play horde. I can’t play this game ITS AWFUL QUEING AS ALLY, 80% loss rate. I do NOT care about loot box incentives. I would do anything for a faction change right about now
maybe this was their plan all along.

actually you miss ally with 5+ pvp equips and the horde with only 1, then it was easy

Never disable this

Limiting battleground groups to 5 man did not stop people from running full premades. Epic fail.

It couldn’t have prevented it completely but it decreased a lot, I remember that every 5 bgs in the afternoon (after waiting 30 min), 3/4 were against full premades, now if I face one it’s a miracle

Loosing in AV thats all

It seems like making the premades smaller has spread their presence across more games. I think that premades should get 98% killed with the change that teams are queued into teams of a similar level of organisation. If you look through old patch notes you can see that this was a feature introduced during retail tbc.

Stop refusing to take snowfall and you might win

New system is great I played a lot of premades previously and 90% of the people I played with are fine playing in groups of 5 and having less stompy games while still leaving room for your 5 to win the game.

also while I have your attention, when are the honor gear cost reductions coming the sooner the better especially with season 2 on the way.

As an alliance player on a realm that all horde seem to be transferring to and alliance seem to be transferring off of, my fun comes from raiding, dungeons, and battlegrounds. It’s already “fun” to get to raids and dungeons (all summoning stones camped, same for most paths), and now our guild can’t de-stress post raid screwing around in battlegrounds as a group. Win or lose, it’s the ability to actually play with friends that make the game. Limiting the premade to 5 people only directly inhibits that.

The post above from Kythe is my post, commenting now from WoW TBC Classic main

this just made the game worse since my guild has now rerolled horde or left. You can now get full pvp gear in 2 days as horde and alliance take 2 months, you made it more unbalanced and this is the reason streamers and serious players leave you just stuff the game rather the creating balance.

my mates of with covid and did it in 2 days non stop gaming

So, tell me this is not being reverted after maintenance and we go back to unplayable queues?

I don’t like posting on the Bnet forums, but since it seems Blizz is actually taking in feedback I felt the need to come and post.

When the original same faction test weekend was announced I was against it because it seemed like too drastic of a change.

When the first weekend happened I was skeptical b/c it seemed like you would either be in a premade or be farmed by one, but it seemed somewhat better than the (at the time) current state of PvP.

This most recent test of battleground changes has been fantastic. I actually have fun PvPing again, and it feels like it’s worth my time to try and get some PvP in. I hope we eventually move to a permanent or semi permanent system that operates like this.

Extend the test at the very least, the last few weeks have been the best battlegrounds have ever been in TBC. Less premades, better queues, and more enjoyable by far.
