Feedback: Hunters

I’m the same ilvl as you, and I’ve been doing tier 11 delves on occasion since I was in the low 610s.

I even have the achievement for running a deathless tier 11.

The difference is that I use a pet.

You definitely have done well to run tiers 8 and 9 with Lone Wolf, that’s for sure. Have you tried tiers 10 or 11? With Lone Wolf?

Pets are such a huge part of our defensive toolkit.

I didn’t do many level 10-11 delves because of the lack of rewards, so I just did a few for achievements. I don’t remember if I did any as petless MM, to be frank. I may have gone Survival.

Edit: You know what? I’ll try to complete the 2 Delves for the weekly quest at level 11. I’ll tell how it went later.

I doubt that.

Currently can use dps Bran on all my undergeared alts. Just need to only tag the targets and let Bran take threat, then save cds until bosses are sub 70% or so then burn.

Armor, self-healing, polymorph-equivalents, you know, things that Marks doesn’t have. Several of the delves are structured to make kiting implausible or impossible, which appears to be Marks’s only option. Fun.

Love to have my spec go from easy-breezy soloing to being the toughest solo in the game. Whee.

Then what are simply doing is using Brann in the same way if you had a pet.

so getting beaten to death because his healing can’t keep up with the damage taken by a class designed to have the pet tanking for you. Grand.

If bran tank is as braindead and boderline useless as he is in other specs, i dont see how this is a big win, especiall when we cant control it

Greetings, hunters.

We appreciate your continued feedback on the Undermine(d) Marksmanship update. We recognize that there is a community of Marksmanship Hunters who wish to retain access to their pets. While Marksmanship’s unique Eagle pet will continue to be the source of their pet utility, such as Master’s Call, Bloodlust, and similar effects, we think it is only right that Marksmanship Hunters be able to continue to traverse Azeroth with their beloved companions.

In our next PTR build, there will be a choice node on Improved Spotter’s Mark called “Unbreakable Bond” that restores Call Pet and associated pet functionalities such as Mend Pet, Dismiss Pet, etc. Additionally, this talent will improve the durability and damage output of your pet to better compensate for the potential throughput loss.

Thank you for your continued feedback and commitment to the Hunter class, and we’ll see you in Undermine(d).

i wish yall had just made the pet cosmetic rather than actually serving a real function. now there’s gonna be a “meta” that requires a person to have their pet either out or not in a given situation. pets should be cosmetic features for mm hunters

theyre making it into a meat shield for open world players. The eagle is still gonna do the utility crap.

Kind of a silly way to do it, still. This takes away pets for like 7 levels while leveling an MM hunter.

Seeing as based on the original post for the rework the removal of the traditional pet was to help with the design of the spec; how much is it going to hamper/not hamper the design of MM going forward if you’re having to design for the eagle and a natural pet at the same time? Is the pet supposed to be competitive with the eagle?

Sure, but there’s gonna be some number crunching where the damage from the pet is weighed against the damage of "lone wolf"ing it… etc etc… i just want to not have to worry about whether it’s “better” for me to have my pet out in a given situation or not so i can choose what fits my character’s personal fantasy best :frowning: but overall i’m happy people who want pets are getting their pets back. i just wish it was done a bit differently…

Nice, a win for everyone! Thanks dev team and tanks Kaivax for communicating that! I’m hopeful this thread can focus on improvements to the rework from here on out.

Funny you’re saying you’re worried about the dps while specced as BM…dual wielding swords.

So is the pet cosmetic or is it meant to be competitive with the eagle? And how is this going to effect MM’s design going forward seeing as the original wording suggested that designing for lone wolf + traditional pet was causing issues.

So now that we’re back to lone wolf (now the eagle) and traditional pet (apparently not cosmetic either) what is that going to do to the design capabilities for MM moving forward?

I don’t like this vision. I was a fan of that sharp shooter sniper fantasy
