Don’t worry Padrepwn, I’m not ignoring you nor will I ever on anyone. No matter the reason. I just want to help Gucci, even if it hinders me 'cause I’m nice like that. I will address you, later.
That’s really sad because I’m not doing anything but talking and backing up my point. If you MUST have me on ignore (or somewhat muted), go to your preferences, change “account” to “notifications” and enter my name under “user”. Fairwell.
One thing i want to point out as well is that, I actually liked the old system because you had to take time to report some one. There’s value in that i believe. A lot of these people who just right click report probably wouldn’t even do it, if they actually had to open up a ticket and say a valid real reason, instead just ignore them or not care. Double standards, or am i just not seeing something here?
I myself do report people who go against morale ethics, but maybe that’s because i think personal ethics and integrity is what makes the man, I don’t want to put so much value into a machine that is known to be corrupt and abused, because well.
The one who DID give an example, PROVED that they’re playing Authoritarian, and it’s quite sad. The best they could give me was “bad language"
Yup. i report people with potty mouths. Of course I do. That way they get silenced and they learn not to do it again.
Harassment, “griefing,” abusive behavior or chat, conduct intended to unreasonably undermine or disrupt the Game experiences of others, deliberate inactivity or disconnecting, and/or any other activity strong textwhich violates Blizzard’s Code of Conduct or In-Game Policies.
Melliga, Ive been patient, but I am going to say this.
You can kick and scream all you like. The moment you logged in and clicked “I agree” to the terms of service, that was the end of it.
If you dont like the rules you agreed to…theres the door.
If you cant or wont meet the basic tenets of the game and cant accept that there are processes in place for good reason, leave.
There is no “authoritarian”, dont be utterly ridiculous.
And how can one be “toxic” in a group
Bad language, Bad conduct. Disruption. Any one of a dozen ways.
Arguments like this are on par with #nochangers falling back on the money play, “but it wasn’t in Vanilla.”
Yeah, I’m a #nochanger, and good luck finding a post from me ever using that argument.
No brain power required, dull and boring, and doesn’t promote discussion or critical thinking. This is a forum. Better to have the discussion here then in the real game.
Totally ignoring that every game does not need the same in game systems… There is no standard operating policy that dictates that every game needs the same features, functions and in game systems.
Some crossover is ok, but so long as it does not impact the game and its community in a negative way.
We know how Classic plays with the old systems in place; this is not an experiment to build a better Classic, this is about revisiting the past as closely as we can.
There is no need to deviate from the old systems, features and functions list.
Fundamentally the environment that right click reporting is meant to police is the same regardless of which version of WoW it is. There’s little reason to think blizzard would use different tools and policies in classic vs retail.
Actually they need too because the core audience is different, and the game play is different, the graphics are different, the concept in game play is different, and everything about the game short of a few shared names of places is different.
Not even the old gear from “vanilla” is the same in modern wow because the models are different and thus have the old items have been redesigned to fit the new.
So far I cant see anything that’s the same about Modern WoW and so I cant see any good reason to use the same failing system in classic WoW.
Think about that for a moment Ziryus, Modern WoW is failing horribly. Not because people dont want to play MMO-RPG’s any more, but because everything that modern wow is makes people not want to play it.
Why should we include systems that drive the customer base away? The only thing I can think of to include such a foolish system is to prove your statements from 2 years ago correct.
You did say that you thought it was a bad idea and that blizzard should not waste their time.
What better way to say “I told you so” then to destroy the game before it starts by changing things before it ships.
Meanwhile the private servers are doing well not because they are free, but because they’re trying to give the player base World of WarCraft; not some sort of modern day interpretation of how you think things should have been.
Yah I am pretty sure while Ziryus may want a different version of Classic, he never said that, now some others did and at least one has said they were wrong.
As much as you might hate to admit it the core game is still basically the same and while there are so details that are very important and different if I showed vanilla and retail to someone who wasn’t familiar with the details they’d think it was the same game.
Pretty much all the basic systems are the same, you’re so lost in the details of the differences you’re not seeing the forest through the trees. And as it relates to this thread public chat function pretty much the same in retail as they did vanilla and there’s no reason to think that it would have any different rules or enforcement in classic than retail does.
Mouthing off in public chat is mouthing off in public chat, just because it wasn’t enforced in vanilla doesn’t mean it was acceptable.
All modern MMO’s are doing badly, if it was just WoW and there were dozens of other MMO’s or even a couple with 10+ million subs you would have a point. But I guess we’ll see, if classic is as awesome on its own merit as some people claim it should have no problem getting right back to that sub level right?
Except it doesn’t, all of those tickets need to be reviewed at some point whether there is automated punishment or not or else people will get away with violations, right? Or should that guy swearing in Azshara chat at 4am on a Thursday get a pass because there’s only 2 other people in the zone to report him?
Except it doesn’t, all of those tickets need to be reviewed at some point whether there is automated punishment or not or else people will get away with violations, right?
No it does, and thats one of the reasons that a lot of things have been changed, GMs were wasting time on too much trivia.
You cant ticket s GM to take a name, its automated.
You dont ticket a GM to complain about Mr Potty Mouth, you right click and report, then a GM sees it later.
Master Looter is gone and personal loot is now set for the main reason GMs were wasting time with petty loot disputes.
If enough people dont like Mr Potty Mouth being Mr Sewer 2019, he or she gets squelched.
“But the filter”
is not a license to swear.
“Put them on ignore” doesnt address their behaviour. Right click report does.
“You report for silly things”
Swearing is against the rules . Advertising gambling is against the rules. Reporting those IS EXPECTED.
Again and I keep coming back to this, you AGREED TO IT all when you installed the game. You clicked I AGREE ,which means you dont now get to sit and cavil and tell Blizzard how to run things.
Except they do cut down on what GM’s have to review if in theory they were actually reviewing everything. Now they only have to review people who actually got squelched and then only if the person decides to actually fight it.
