Factory reset

I have scoured the internet forums, youtube, everything I can.
I want a full reset to factory settings of the game as if I never played before.
All my UI edits, keybinds, etc.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game 2 times. I deleted any left over folders. I have tried renaming and even deleting all the WTF, cache, Interface folders as suggested in existing forums. I did the console command. I have clicked in the battle net app default settings, ive done it in game.
Yet previous UI edits remain saved, a couple I cant delete, the wheel to remove them isnt available.
I just completed a scan and repair.
I have uninstalled and deleted left over files from curse forge.
Why am I doing this? Well it started with freezing and abrupt crashes alt tabbing. So I decided to a full fresh clean reinstall but for whatever reason, there must saved settings on the server side of wow?
Everything ive searched and attempted from google isn’t helping, ive invested hours into this process and I now I have to come here seeking help. What’s all your advice?

Is there a setting on the UI editor to load a default?

Unfortunately no. In short, if i bought a fresh computer that has never been used and i downloaded the game to it, these things would still occur.

try this

Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  1. Prepare the reset:
  • Exit the game completely: Ensure World of Warcraft is not running.
  • Remove addon managers (if applicable): If you use external addon managers, uninstall them to prevent them from automatically restoring your previous settings.
  1. Locate the World of Warcraft directory:
  • Open the Blizzard Battle.net application:

Navigate to “Options” and then “Show in Explorer” (Windows) or “Reveal in Finder” (Mac) to access the game’s installation folder.

  • Locate the World of Warcraft folder:

Within the Blizzard Battle.net application, open the World of Warcraft folder, then the “retail” folder.

  1. Rename or delete the relevant folders:
  • Rename the Cache, Interface, and WTF folders: Rename these folders to CacheOld, InterfaceOld, and WTFold, respectively. Alternatively, you can delete these folders if you want a complete reset.
  1. Launch the game and log in:
  • Re-launch World of Warcraft and log into your character.
  1. Reset server-side settings (optional):
  • Use the /console cvar_default command:

This command will reset most of the server-side UI settings to their default values.

  • Use the /reloadui command:

This command will reload the game’s interface, ensuring the new settings are applied.

  1. Reconfigure your UI:
  • Open the game’s settings menu and reconfigure your UI to your preferences.
  • Consider re-installing any addons you prefer.

Important notes:

  • This process will reset your character’s UI settings, but it won’t affect your account-wide settings (e.g., character appearance, keybindings).
  • If you have issues with server-side UI settings syncing after this process, you may need to disable and re-enable them using the /console synchronizeConfig and /console synchronizeSettings commands, as mentioned on a Blizzard forum.
  • You may need to re-enable server-side syncs after deleting your character folder, as disabling them first and then deleting the folder may resolve UI issues.

For a more helpful explanation, you can refer to the Blizzard forums thread on resetting the UI, a Blizzard forum thread on addon/UI issues, and a Blizzard forum thread on UI not updating on one character.
