Faction Change - No way to get to Shadowlands

I moved my BFA (completed) alliance toon over to horde and its showing no campaigns available. It is acting like I never went to BFA even though I went all the way through it. I was able to get the skip to open the portal at least for BFA but the Oribos and Shadowlands are completely unreachable at this point. The quest is not coming up to get to the Maw. Nazgrim does not offer anything. I turned on old quests for the map, reset the interface, and disabled all add ons. I am stuck in limbo on this character. If anyone has ideas please let me know what I am missing. The only campaign showing is the waiting on a boat for Dragon isles which is obviously not out yet. And to clarify - I am entirely done on horde side with SL so if I can figure out how to get to Oribos legitimately (because mage portal took me to a mostly empty city) then I cannot get any progress on this character prior to launch. I am posting this because my help ticket says average wait time is 47 days…

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I think it’s tied to a known issue.

You may have to check again after maintenance.

The only fix was to have a friend with the “A Chilling Summons” quest party with me, hit Party Sync and Share the quest.

Any idea when this will be fixed, I just changed from alliance to horde and I can’t start shadowlands still.

I think it has, make sure to read the blue posts in the above linked thread.

Yea I still can’t start it mograine or the gate isn’t there nor can I talk to chromie it’s as if shadowlands doesn’t exist.

You can’t start Shadowlands because you already did while you were Alliance. The quests for Shadowlands are mostly neutral, meaning if you completed them for the Alliance, if you switch to Horde, they should transfer.

In your case, you were questing in Ardenweald with the quest “I Know Your Face”. It was abandoned when you faction changed, which is normal. You just need to go back there and pick it up again.

Since you are level 70, make sure that you have Trivial Quests checked in your minimap options.

Hey Vrak? To kind of piggy back off of this? There was someone here on the weekend that was seeking help. Their post had gotten shuffled over to the Questing forum from here, where I fear it’ll sit there unanswered. I did ask them to put in a ticket, but I’m bullheaded enough I thought I’d take a chance here. ^^

Just pasting this here for anyone else that runs into this issue.

Greetings

Thank you for contacting Blizzard Customer Support. My name is Game Master Enmiduhoon and I am here to assist you with your request.

Thank you for your reply.

With the release of the new expansion all of the campaign skips from the previous expansion got removed, that means that the campaigns have to be completed in order with new characters again that have not done the skip beforehand.

I know this might be a different answer than expected, however we cannot undo those changes retroactively.

here a guide from wowhead that can help you with that:

So yes, it looks like if you have an alt you want to work on Shadowlands content you must complete the entire Shadowlands campaign in its entirety to be able to do end content that was previously available to all max level characters and alts. As if it was still current content. Very lame to remove that content skip for no apparent reason other then to make it purposely inconvenient.

Also [Leilleath] thank you for your help you are the real MVP!

The more detailed explanation of that can be found in your thread here where I also linked the Blizzard response on the Threads of Fate skip etc:

There are plenty of reasons, but the biggest reason is that the expectation going forward will be alts using Chromie Time to level from 10-60 in SL, should they choose to do so. As the link Forumcat provided shows, keeping ToF would mean that there would be four different leveling tracks in the SL expansion (Normal and ToF, both in Chromie Time and non-Chromie Time).

There was a ton of communication about this change, why they felt it was necessary, and plenty of warning to move alts into ToF before the deadline.

That’s not really an excuse when you are 70 already. If I was 50 or anything besides 60 - 70. That is locking away old content for no purpose. I can farm it on my lock or pally, I don’t need to farm on my Druid. I believe it looked like it could be fun to try.
