DF and the Maw

So do you need to go through the entire campaign to go into The Maw/Torghast as threads of fate is no longer available at max level? I can’t even use the [Broker Mark of Distinction] on my alt, “You can’t do that right now.” keeps coming up. Or am I just messed up on some rogue quest I can’t seem to track down? Help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If I remember correctly, so long as you did the full questline at some point or another on a character? You should be able to speak to the Fatescribe to skip through all of that. And you don’t have to be 70.

I took my level 60 Dracthyr out to Shadowlands for the first time (because all of my other higher levels did the SL stuff). I was greeted upon arrival by the Fatescribe and I chose the Threads of Fate that is offered to levels 60+. It’s not an option for sub-level 60s who choose to level in the Shadowlands under Chromie time, that’s all.

Talk to the Fatescribe (in the outside area behind the innkeeper) and you should be given the option to choose your path. From there it’ll send you over to Tal-Inar where you would choose your covenant and once you do that? You get the option for all of those skips.

I tried that, I did some searching and found this in a post.

Level 60 Boosted Characters Are Not Offered Threads of Fate

Common Problems

I boosted to 60 and I got the quest A Chilling Summons, but I don’t think I should have this quest

  • I boosted my character to level 60 and I can’t choose Threads of Fate

The developers have confirmed that, after the launch of the Dragonflight 10.0 prepatch, all level 60 boosted characters will need to complete the Maw introduction quest and do the quest campaign in order to unlock their covenant. This is intended and Customer Support cannot bypass this mechanic.

Now I did not boost my Druid but when I jump into the Maw it says instance not available. I can on my other chars. So it not a interface or addon issue. Also wont let me pick a covenant not use the account tokens.

Do you have trivial quest tracking up on your alt? And of course the Brokers Mark of Distinction will not work if you had not selected your covenant. You can’t raise your renown if you don’t have a chosen covenant to raise it in.

If you did not boost your character, then that wouldn’t be the issue. Like I said, I literally just accepted the Shadowlands quest on my Dracthyr who has done nothing at all since I got her out of the starting quests. I did skip the intro schtick into the Maw and it landed me right there to have the Fatescribe greeting me.

Tinkered a bit with one of my logging add-ons, and was able to pull off my exact quests I’ve done in this short time that got me from point A to me being given the option of skipping everything.

I do wonder if you had started the Oribos intro somewhere along the way? If you don’t have trivial quests chosen, try that and kind of do a jog around Oribos to see what, if any quests you have available to you that might have been dropped at some point to bork this up.

That’s the best I’ve got right this moment. Perhaps when the SFAs get in later this morning one of them can take a peek if you’re unable to resolve this before then.

I do have trivial quests checked on my map. No quests show up at all in Oribos except one from the in keeper. None of the covenant reps are in the room with the speaker.

Hm it was worth a shot. I’m sorry.

Hopefully Vrak or Orlyia will poke their head in here once they get into the office this morning. They can see a lot more on the back end of things obviously than I can.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed and hope that’ll be the case and they can help get you pointed in the proper direction to get this moving for you.

"The Threads of Fate Campaign skip in Shadowlands is no longer available for leveling or max-level characters.

Any characters who have already chosen Threads of Fate prior to Dragonflight will be able to finish it. However, characters who never initiated Threads of Fate will be restricted only to the zone-by-zone Covenant campaign for Shadowlands.

If you already chose Threads of Fate, do not choose Chromie Time’s Shadowlands - Realms of Death. If you do switch to Realms of Death while Threads of Fate is active, you will retain most of the features of Threads of Fate, but you will lose access to World Quests until level 60."

The bad thing is that is exactly what I did last night - it gave me that option on my level 60 dracthyr as soon as I zoned into Oriobos. You can actually see the quest accepted and completed in the text log from the game.

And I know I took a level 60+ at some point that leveled through the elemental invasions that I took out there to get some profession recipes that allowed me to do the same. Soo I don’t know if my two alts had some lucky bug?

But all skips are available once level 60 is reached. This isn’t actually about ToF, it’s about accessing all of the skips for 60+.

Ugh, someone moved this over to a different forum from CS. While it’s not ideal, you can submit a ticket. It is a fine line between them helping to get you back on track and game hints, the latter of which GMs are not allowed to give.

I would put it in, say that you’ve got your quest tracker set to show trivial quests, you did seek help on the forums to no avail, that nothing you’ve searched or tried is pulling up anything as to why you cannot get into the Maw or open covenants.

You can submit your ticket here: https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/contact/472/ticket

Zoink! Back to CS!

In order to visit the Maw and go into Torghast you must have joined a covenant. In order to join a covenant you need to complete the campaign and be level 60+.

You’re amazing, thank you <3

It looks like they had, at least on that character they’re posting with? It’s showing all of the achievements for the four primary zones and each of the different patch/zone areas as well as the covenant campaign back when it was current.

On the Warlock, yes. I was under the impression this was for the Druid character. That character is currently questing in Bastion on the Campaign.

Ah ha, my bad. I’m going to sidle off like the dork I am then. Thank you again for pulling this back. I felt rather bad telling them my usual “hopefully an SFA will take a peek” bit and then it was slipped away elsewhere. I really do appreciate your help!

Technically speaking it usually should go to the Quests forum for help, but I tend to like trying to them out.
