I wouldn’t describe them. Just because you only play 10 hours a week I don’t ascribe that to some personality defect. It’s ok that you don’t want to spend much time playing the game. It doesn’t mean you’re lazy.
Well you did claim you were lazy. You said some weeks you’re lazy and you just play 6 hours. It’s just a game and if you’re not having fun and only want to play 6 hours some weeks I wouldn’t call you lazy. I guess we have a different idea of what constitutes lazy
Gee i wonder how long till blizzard make a move to take action regarding this post, will they announce duel spec because this topic is ongoing, or will they just sit on their thumbs silent. much like they do with dead servers and the lack of merges
The people to whom I responded seem to have taken an opposite stand. It looks like they suggested Redheadchild’s opinion was invalid because he is in an “average” guild, which implies this change is only beneficial to “above average” players.
Redheadchild has long been against dual spec because he claims he would be forced by his guild to have two raiding dps specs. Some people have looked at his armory and parses and it doesn’t seem like he’s in any danger of that because his guild is casual now. Why would a casual guild suddenly require every raider to have two dps raid specs? I never look at parses but if true it seems to me that redheadchild is just bs-ing.
Its kind of hard to argue that being able to spec something is a “reward”.
Rewards in this game are merit-based and come from downing bosses in dungeons and raids, and besting other players in pvp. Gear from dungeons and raids, titles, mounts and gear from pvp.
If simply being in the right spec guaranteed you said rewards, maybe you’d have an argument. Although that would be very boring.
I wouldn’t believe much of anything they tell you, they are known for intentionally misrepresenting what people say, or just outright slandering them.
If you need any proof you can look at how fey claims I’m a lair constantly for saying it’s more than possible to do 2-3 dailies in an average of about 10 minutes, claims the cooking and fishing can’t be done in less than 10 minutes let alone a 3rd daily. So he calls me a lair and demands I share the times it takes to do the quests. I share, he doesn’t believe me. I post video evidence and he tries to claim it was just rng luck and that I am still a lair. When I proved him the lair, as he went so far to try and slander me as to claim that just the cooking and fishing daily couldn’t be done in under 10 minutes, let alone a 3rd.
Because that’s the only “argument” they have for dual spec. Misrepresenting what people have said by intentionally twisting the words to mean something it doesn’t mean (claiming all arguments agaisg dual spec are nochanges, which isnt true), taking it severely out of context (like their whole raid logger comments, when I gave my play time for the holiday season, just to show I was playing about 10 hours a week and still turning a gold profit that covers raiding and spec switching for a little pvp even when playing very little during the holiday season), or just out right slander with character assassination attempts by quoting logs (which my guild hardly posts to begin with) or with just outright calling me a lair.
And even with video evidence they still want to call me a lair.
It’s clear who is actually willing to have a discussion and who is acting like children.
It’s okay, I can lay out my arguments for dual spec again.
Dual spec will enable me to viably queue arenas during the 2-3 day time period where I am raid specced, without needing to spend 100g worth of time farming.
Dual spec will enable my priest to heal heroics when it’s raid-specced shadow, or viably heal arenas when it’s specced pve healing, again without wasting time farming.
For those with tank classes, it will enable them to tank heroic dailies or attunement runs.
This all increases player participation, adds more tanks and healers to the pool, and will generally benefit the game due to having more people online, playing.
The only counterargument I have ever seen from you guys to these points is “no you wont do these things because you and everyone like you (who says they will) is lying”.
My most standout memory of this debate was Henceforth or someone going like “lol its a fallacy that this will fix the tank shortage” and that Rosamoon druid saying “well I have a tank spec with tank gear that I fully intend to use if dual spec becomes available, so that would add at least add one tank to the pool” and you guys just screeching about how that wouldn’t FIX the shortage and anyway she was lying.
Oh yeah and then you guys telling my mate to just tank heroics in his pvp arms spec even though he literally cannot reach defence cap without speccing prot.
So somehow dual spec will let you have an arena spec, a pvp dps spec, a pve healer spec, and all with just 2 talent trees from dual spec. Thats amazing! 3 specs in 2!
I wasn’t aware dual spec breaks the basic laws of mathematics.
And as for the tank shortages “fix”
Just as dual spec will add tanks it will remove them.
Currently there are tanks that do heroics for a price (even if it’s just reserved items) to meet their weekly gold needs, dual spec will let them have a dps spec which could lead them do doing dailies or farming instead of tanking. Or just not needing as much gold because now they are tank spec and pvp spec and don’t have to use any gold to pvp. This removes tanks. Which will likely cancle out any added tanks as most people who are willing to tank are already doing it because one of the biggest things causing the tank shortage is simply that people don’t like the responsibility or playstyle of the role. Most people would rather be a dps than a tank or healer for dungeons because of simplicity, playstyle preference, not wanting responsibilities, exc.
And the above arguments apply to healers as well.
Idk about your guild but in every guild I have been in for classic the tanks only real expense is spec changing and enchant/geming their pvp gear because the guild provides most of their consumes, enchants, and gems to make sure the guild has the best chances of success. Even resist gear is a guild effort for the tanks. I personally donate all the +30 stam food I get to my guilds tanks. And is part of way I regularly do the fishing and cooking daily.
I get when you’re only playing 10 hours a week you don’t understand that most of us play more and have alts. it’s not 3 specs in 2. It’s 2 characters both with 2 specs
