If you say so. You’re the one saying that they “merged” your two battle.net accounts into one. Something that is not at all possible. I’ll trust my years of posting in the Customer Support forums, the Support Forum Agents there (blues) over your misunderstanding of how things work.
Feel free to post over there and see what they say.
What you ‘wanted’ to happen, didn’t. And again, if you feel one of your two battle.net accounts is missing some items/mounts or whatever, then feel free to use the link I provided to open up a ticket.
funny that blizzard reps didnt need to play this semantics game and DID ADMIT there was a problem…just said they werent going to replace anyting lost.
END of story
How is that a bad deal? Blizzard told the person they’d combine their accounts. Never said “We’re going to delete all your stuff in the process and you won’t be able to get it back”
Again, nothing was deleted. The OP, and seemingly you as well, don’t understand that two battle.net accounts can’t be made into one. The items still exist on the account that they’re bound to.
Cause they’re stuck ups. Blizzard can do anything when it comes to their game. Pretty sure they don’t have a good reason either. I genuinely feel bad for this person. Blizzard, make sure your employees do their job, or fire them. Look what this person has to deal with. Give them their stuff back.
Then why would they state that’s what they’re doing? It’s literally a misrepresentation of what’s going on and if it were a paid service, would qualify as false advertisement, I’m sure.
“Combine Blizzard accounts”
“How to consolidate multiple Blizzard accounts into a single account”
I haven’t seen anything that showed that the OP or Taienna have opened a ticket to ask for a reversal. So I’m not sure where you’re getting that Blizz is refusing to fix it. I’ve even suggested that they ask Blizz to reverse it.
Note that it doesn’t say “battle.net accounts”. It then has a list of blizzard account types (games) that can and cannot be moved.
All I see here are people trying to help you out and you being a bit of a witch about it to be frank. Understand you’re upset but no need to lash out at folks trying to give you advice.
They do this (and explain that it is done by) moving licenses to one battle.net account from the other, which has limitations that are clearly communicated on what transfers and what doesn’t. Nothing is merged, and both battle.net accounts still exist. But the licenses are consolidated on one account.
Uhhhh, what? The merger is so primitive that it can’t be a full merge but is essentially a partial copy pasta?
I’d …be profoundly unhappy with that. It’s so bad a way to do it that it almost seems like it has to be done that way to discourage people from using the service.
I remain amazed at just how much of their own data base structure seems opaque or unusuable to Blizzard itself. The data store itself has to be immense beyond thinking about (ahhhhhhhhhhh okay made my san check, barely. I’ll be ok, hold my tentacle…) but the actual scheme to address it and be able to gather data for characters and accounts seems to be just to difficult or timeconsuming for them to be able to gather it and move it without great trouble. I wonder how many pages their database structures and schema runs to…might be interesting to see.
I’d think a tool that simply scrolled through and account logon gathering information on banks/bags/collections and then flagged the data points gathered would address these issues and be an intern level development project. Of course I’m not a AAA dev and was often considered a “rogue developer” in my jobs in corp america due to the tools I would make for my own use that then would get taken and used by other.
In any case man I’d escalate this and post a question to the @warcraftdevs on twitter asking about it.
Over the years there have been problems for people merging accounts. I think I remember reading about Blizzard restoring an achievement or title or something once and that was years ago.
Finally, dunno why OP took this to GD except to gripe. The place to get it resolved would be the CS forum. If they already said no, then it was a bad deal.
yeah…Im going to stop wasting my time with the persons here who cant accept they are wrong. Not worth wasting my time with at this point.
I was on the phone TWICE with blizzard reps.
The first time was probably a full 40 minutes or so.
We covered EVERY STNKING DETAIL of what WOULD and WOULDNT be coming along for the ride.
NOTHING in my main account was supposed to be missing. THAT was the point of making sure they moved the ONE account and not the other.
They were VERY clear in what would the end results would be. I asked them repeatedly so there was no confusion.
I noticed really quickly that a list of crap was missing fromthe account that it SHOULDNT have been missing from.
A list of mounts that required a rep grind…mounts I earned and PAID FOR…GONE.
Random crap. Not super rare one of a kind cant get it anymore anywhere stuff…just random nothing mounts, mogs, etc…mostly gone from the account that WASNT supposed to lose it.
On that second call the rep AGREED that stuff that wasnt supposed to be GONE was GONE but said there was nothing she could do about it.
She told me to do the one grind over again on another character because she could SEE that I was SUPPOSED to have the mount on that account EVEN AFTER the move to a single Bnet account…but it was gone even though the achievement that gave it to me was and is still showing on that character on my main account.
They SHOULD have warned me that odd crap could indeed disappear when the one account was MOVED to the other bnet account, but they chose to not say anything or warn me at all.
I’d highly recommend posting over in the Customer Support forums then. In the many years that they’ve been doing this, I’ve never seen a case where items were “deleted”. One of the blues there might be able to dig into it further or provide some clarity.
