Don't get screwed by account merger and consolidation

So I have two blizzard accounts or I should say had two blizzard accounts. Now I have one. I requested my accounts be merged so I could share my heirlooms as I had on my main account with all my mounts, toys, achievements and progression and this alt account I intended to use just for random stuff and let my little brother play on. I submitted a ticket requesting the accounts be merged, I was told the accounts would be merged with little effort as they were under the same name. Awesome. I log in and see my main account is gone… ok. I log unto my 2nd account and see the characters are being moved, that’s fine. 5 Days go by, I realize my mounts, toys and collections are not appearing. I submit a ticket asking what’s taking so long with my collections. I’m told my account has been consolidated and my previous account has been deleted as such I’ve lost all my mounts, toys and collections and I agreed to that consolidation when I requested the merger.

I’m at a lost for words, honestly just speechless.

I feel so cheated, I will solicit assistance but if my main account is gone which I can understand, I find it hard to accept I was never warned or notified my collections would be deleted. All the time invested in farming mounts and toys, just gone. So incredibly unfair and I just hope any who finds themselves in a position seeking a merger be very careful and do not let the blizzard employee blame you stating “You agreed to the account consolidation” when you were never notified about what all would occur.

Sad, I think that’s enough of Blizzard for one lifetime.

I would leave too, I don’t blame you there…

Always move the smaller account into the larger one, rather than the other way around. Avoids issues like these. Sorry that happened to you. :frowning:

That sucks man. I can’t believe they have no way of restoring the account.

Have you tried the Customer Service forum?

If the accounts were under two different battlenet accounts, then the account wide things (mounts, pets, transmogs, etc) would not transfer from one to the other.

If both accounts were under the same battlenet then they would, because such things are battlenet account wide.

same crap here.
Got two accounts migrated into one. They lost mounts and crap that was RNG only and stuff Im giong to have to pay THOUSANDS in gold if I want to get back.
I had one mount lost that the rep could SEE that I earned the achievement for but they lost it somehow.
She politely told me to take a hike. Id have to go earn it again.

one character was on WOW 1 where I wanted it…but when they migrated it it got moved to the other WoW so now its useless to me unless I pay for a transfer.

A list of mounts I worked paid for…gone.
Quite a few mogs I had…gone.

yeah…sorry I ever bothered.

I’m not sure how you approached asking for the merger, but it is usually warned about that this would happen, in fact it even is listed in support about what happens when you request accounts moved from one battle net account to another.

But yes, it is good information to know in case others need to know, Merging accounts in this way also does not allow you to pay only one game time subscription as well.

That’s rough dude, I am sorry.

Just for clarity, Blizz doesn’t “merge” accounts. They are able to move WoW accounts from one Battle.net account to another in the exact same name, but it’s very clear in the Support Article that anything account-bound, like most mounts, pets, wardrobe, and account-wide achievements, are left behind on the original battle.net account.

They still exist there.

Here’s the Support Article

I’m not sure how that works.

If account A has a lot of stuff like pets and mounts and Account B has let’s say was the one that had only one mount from a raid drop and you asked to have account B merged into a count A would you only lose the one Mount from account B?

Or does it go by account dates where account A started in 2007 and had nothing and account B started 2012 but had a ton of stuff when merging accounts it goes by the first account that started 2007?

Are you saying that even if someone merges two accounts into one, they still have to pay two monthly subs?

Because if so, then why would anyone do it?

You can’t merge two wow licenses to make just one subscription. You can move wow licenses from one battle net account to another, technically no merging.

Yes, because they remain separate accounts. They don’t actually “merge” into a single account.

Some people do it to consolidate battle.net accounts or because they have one WoW account with very little on it and it actually gains by being added to a different battle.net that they have.

That’s really confusing.

I get what you’re saying, but that is just too confusing. I’ll stay far away from that.

So the OP should be able to reactivate the other account and get all their stuff back I guess?

It’s not a WoW account merger, it’s a battle.net account merger we’re discussing.

Everything considered account bound should still be there, that is true. So if OP decides to add another wow license to the other battle net account it should still be there.

its all semantics to me.
They took TWO accounts (plural) and made ONE account (singular). Dont care about the phrases, words or titles required.
What I know is they lost a TON of my crap and NO ONE on the phone when I called said it might happen.

Just above the play button there should be a drop down menu showing wow 2 I think. Do you have that?

ugh.
yeah…I got it.
please…lets not play this little game, shall we not?
I had crap on BOTH wow’s that ARENT on EITHER now.
The Pandaren Kite Mount, for one.
Had it on ONE account and NOW its on NEITHER.
its GONE…along with a long list of other mounts and mogs I worked for.
