I don’t think buffing Mortal strike in particular is what warriors need. You’re basically wanting a bias specifically for Arms, when Fury needs much more buffing especially dual wield, which at the moment is garbage in pvp bursts compared to arms
Buffing warriors as a whole is much better, by making rend damage and deep wounds scale with attack power and possible armor penetration addition on the cooldowns like deathwish or sweeping strikes
If deep wounds tick 500 and rend tick 500, it’s enough to keep up with SOD pvp bursts. Since everyone else is dealing elemental damage, except warriors.
The reason why paladins are broken strong is because of magic damage swings that ignores armor, the deep wounds and rend becoming useful and significant will make it even for burst damage

And somewhat increasing survival abilities, like bloodcraze the 3% hp is worth nothing in SOD literally. 3% was worth very little in era. I’d say make bloodcraze 9% hp since it does take 6 seconds and also can be reduced by debuffs. Or keep 3% bloodcraze but have the buff stack separately. 2 crits = 2 separate buffs of bloodcraze
You might be the first person I’ve seen that wants Dual Wield Fury to be good in PvP. Even if you somehow made Dual Wield Fury bursty in PvP without breaking it in PvE, it still wouldn’t compete with Arms due to the Mortal Strike debuff. And you can’t give Fury the 31 point talent Mortal Strike debuff without making Arms completely useless in all of SOD. Arms has already been kinda neglected in SOD in favor of the Prot/Glad build. If you want Warrior PvP buffs that doesn’t involve using a shield, then Arms is the only the only logical spec to look at whether that’s talents or runes.
2h fury is bis now. I am constantly behind the 2h warrior in dps when I use my DW kit (crul shorukh and flashrend), kinda insane actually we are talking about this. It feels like to me the devs dont even play warrior and they are not interested in it either. The fact that rend does 25 damage a tic was just to keep ppl out of stealth but in SoD you would think that a level 4 ability would be buffed to be useful but no the devs have never leveled a warrior or pvp’d a warrior. Gladiator stance isnt even useful, you still die too quick. Its better to pvp straight def. stance
on the latest Huhu logs at the 90th percentile (tank and spank fight) Arms needs a 100% dps upgrade to catch ret paladin. Arms needs buffs. Mortal Strike hits like a wet noodle and in PVP often will struggle to do more dmg than a moonfire dot tic soooo…
the lead game producer plays a ret (made it S++ in ICC for no reason at all and amazing in SoD) and actively hates warrior. Warrior is intentionally bad in SoD. Its not an accident.
No one wants bleed buffs.
I cant speak for everyone but what I want thats is in the realm of possible (forget about bladestorm)
We need armor pen. R14 weapon doesnt hit as hard as BRE with stacks and its a shame. And fix blood frenzy so it heals more than a bandage tick. Just those 2 things and ill shut the hell up.
If you’re having a problem with high armor targets, it’s because you don’t even have elemental damage. If a paladin had no magic damage, they also would hit for nothing vs high armors, for rogues as well without nature damage
Armor penetration buff also works as discussed
You say you dont want bleed rend buff even though you need it also. Its a damage that ignores armor completely
I agree bleed should be better but it would need a 500% buff to even be worth the gcd without the rune, and you would have to sacrifice warbringer to even get the rend improvement rune.
Im not saying its a bad idea but armor pen improves all of our physical abilities which most of our damage is behind not just a single area we lack.
Will it be too strong vs casters? I dont believe so. I was rocking BRE for the longest time and with 3 stacks clothies basically have no armor, with the PVP aura and PVP gear casters were not gettting 1 shot at all.
But if your a caster coming in with full raid gear expect to be one shot by any class.
Its funny that the rune that buffs Rend damage makes it do 125 damage instead of 25 damage. On damage meters its not even 2% of damage. So we have a few runes that are literally worthless. Rememeber when Bloodrage gave you 25% damage from flagellation?? Blood frenzy should add armor penetration to targets affected by rend. Flagellation should go back to what it was before.
But you also know what? Nobody uses the draconic set because warcraft logs says coreforged is better but in PvP draconic 4 piece is really strong. At least HS hits like a MS.
Having just installed OBS a week ago I already got some wild PvP footage in Silithus with great 1v1s against full T2 people and some R13/14s and even some 1v2s. I need to DL an editing program and upload this on YouTube and show my fellow warriors how it’s done(never done anything like this so it may take me a minute to learn how).
And I don’t think warriors can PvP in SOD at all without the ZG enchanted R13 set / R14 weapon(that -5% damage from other players is noticeable) and ALL the BM off-pieces including the belt/bracers(I run Taste for Blood in WPvP so I don’t need to stance dance much) along with Flask of the Titans.
I can’t stress enough how mandatory this gear is. If you’re PVPing in T2 for those set bonuses you are frankly stupid and signing yourself up for failure.
Do I still think warriors need some Armor Penetration? Yes, but anyone still saying we’re the free kills we were during Phases 1-4 are doing something wrong. During those phases I couldn’t do anything close to what I can do now on my Warrior.
