Greetings, Recently, we have experienced unprecedented distributed-denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks that impacted many Blizzard game services, including Hardcore realms, with the singular goal of disrupting players’ experiences. It’s outside of CS’s purview. They won’t have any info on it. The only place to reach the folks that do is in the hardcore forum.

Customer Support has no involvement with these matters. If anything will be done, it would likely be relayed by a Community Manager, as it was originally.

Support deals with the areas that are under its purview. Decisions about Hardcore characters directly related to DDOS attacks isn’t one of those. It is entirely under the Game Developers and what they decide. Anything they decide is usually relayed by a Community Manager.

They’ve done a few waves of restorations when there was a confirmed DDOS. But you won’t hear about it unless it happens.

Technically, you were told we cannot resurrect a character regardless of the circumstances.

You seem to have reopened your ticket for some reason though, Mightmon. I already told you that Customer Support has no involvement in that process, their answer isn’t going to change. They don’t have any information on if or when characters may be restored if lost due to a DDOS.

Tickets will not help. They go to CS which has no involvement in this. IF the developers choose to do any resurrections, it will be announced by a CM in the hardcore forum. Posting there is your only option. There will probably only be a reply if they decide to do it. And if they do it they will do it for everyone that they feel died as a result of the event. They have explained it several times, here’s one of them.

An Update on Our Response to the DDoS Attacks

We have begun resurrecting player-characters that were lost during recent distributed-denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on our Hardcore realms. Our preliminary focus has been on characters that died during attacks on March 22, 23, and 24, and we are expanding the scope of our review to consider resurrections of characters lost during confirmed DDoS incidents after those dates. Just to close this one up. If it is decided to restore characters lost in a recent verified DDOS Community is likely to post in the Hardcore forums. Keep an eye out there.
