AV is toxic to the game

I was so hyped to play classic wow. I’ve been a competitive PvPer since TBC and played nearly every expansion. Is this state of the game how PvP was intended? PvE’ing or AFKking the cave in AV to get BiS PvP gear? You don’t even have to capture any objectives on the map or engage in actual PvP. The min-maxing community is toxic

Over 80% of us don’t touch mythic 15+ content or mythic raids. The argument that content needs to be catered to the minority of players is exhausting and needs to be stopped. I play this game for fun, to collect cool gear, beat people without said gear and show progress on my favorite characters. I DON’T play this game to have a 2-5% advantage over people and exclude them from content. I have no idea what it means and I’m inclined to believe that people use “toxic” as a catchall for “I don’t like this and the bandwagon phrase right now is toxic”.

Maybe toxicity is cherry-picking specific posts to undermine the idea that standards for player behavior could possibly exist. Who knows? I guess nobody will ever know. I guess it’s unknowable.

What is your definition of “toxicity”? What are your standards?

We see a lot of posts saying that “toxicity should be acted on by blizzard to keep the forums a safe place” by people who seem to feel that “everyone who refuses to accept that my opinion is right and theirs is wrong is toxic”.

What indeed? What is toxicity? How do we define it? I guess there’s no way to know. Everything is fine right now, I guess. I can’t imagine why anyone would complain! Am I being toxic right now by not providing an itemized list of toxic traits/behaviors that someone could then dismantle one-by-one, thereby proving that I am wrong/oversensitive? Maybe? I guess?

I mean, nobody can know anything, can they? And I guess that means that communicating to anyone at any time just isn’t a great idea? I guess?

Well, granted a ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for. Truth is, at best a guild is a cheap imitation of human connection, but it will never be a substitute for the real thing.
