Okay, so beside the at least 3 high rated WW player in this post who said the same like the analysis, let me give you another example:
On the 28th october, 1-2 days before the patch, Lontar made a tierlist based on the changes. He read something about 20% BoK buff etc. and placed it in high A tier. After the patch he then played with Blizo and Fuseton on their monks. Yesterday he updated the tierlist and placed WW into bottom B tier with the words “WW is shît!”
So I am really curious how you could think that WW is in a great spot, especially since you are barely playing it, not to talk about higher ratings.

As for your actual question; first I’ll say streamers are a plague on gaming society. People tend to take their words as sacrosanct, when they have personal/financial stakes in the game to begin with so will never be unbiased.
As for an example I can think of past mage streamers, during an RMP meta, who would cry about mages actually being weak because this and that.
The reason I believe monk is in a good spot is because they’re not paper thin and fall over at the first sign a dps passes wind in their direction.
They’re basic dps outside of cds and procs isn’t the strongest, but it’s not terrible either.
Their full burst is actually pretty strong and shorter cds than most people’s big defensives.
All their cds are short, so the ability to reset between goes is easier than it’s been in a while.
Problem is patience is something a lot of people in this game doesn’t have anymore, they think if you can’t just pve rotation and W key to victory then something is weak.
How many games do you exactly have in 3s and/or RSS on your monk(s) this expansion again? Oh right, none so far!
Mostly about their own classes, that is true. But he is one of the best healers in this game and when he says that WW is bad and he don’t want to play with one, that has more value and I don’t see the bias in there.
But what exactly is your source then of your opinion about WW? Just your own opinion? If so, on what is it based, when you haven’t played WW in 3s / shuffle so far, which are the brackets we are talking about in here.

However, ever heard about the concept of inference?
Gearing a brand new character and doing double dps 2s with someone who also hadn’t played in 2 years, also playing a new character, was able to have an easy time doing games to catch up on conquest cap.
Between also doing bgs, skirms, and some dirty wpvp I can use that limited scope of experience in current expansion and compare it to past seasons WW and make an inference (known as an educated guess) to how WW feels currently.
And then after talking with friends who do have the necessary experience and level I can then combine that to express my opinion.
Who exactly? What top rated player, preferably healer, says that WW is great and he prefers to play with them and hate it to play against them, in their current state?
Sorry, but that has no value in 3s/shuffle! That is like saying an underperforming spec in M+/Raid is acutally good, because you leveled it and felt like it was doing good.

Where did I said something about OP? I asked for a source and preferably healer, because they of course prefer to play with decent specs. That doesn’t mean they only want to play with OP specs.
I mean, other sources from top rated players are also fine, but often enough you will get people who just want WW to stay bad. Maybe because they are hard to fight against with their class (Lock/Shadow for example) or because they are a direct competitor to their class (Warrior/DH).
Anyways, top rated AWC players agree with what the statistical analysis shows: WW is not doing good enough currently. That has more value for me than your pseudo knowledge based on hearsay from questionable sources. 
I hope the devs see it my way and try to improve the situation.

I wouldn’t say you are a main of any class in PvP, when you’ve play 20’ish games in 2s so far in the whole season.
But obviously I wasn’t talking about you, but any source. Just with the hint in general, that not every source is trustworthy based on their opinion for the named reason. A healer instead is a better person to ask. When they like to play with a spec but hate to play against, the spec is usually very decent!
