ugh, I don’t consider Taco Bell real Mexican or TexMex, I usually avoid going there. when I have a pretty good Taqueria Mexicano like right next door to me. That’s if I can manage to get by my neighbor’s Abuelita. I think she a bit sweet on me, as since I have had my amputation, she makes sure I am eating, and brings food over all the time to me and my dad.
Nobody does really. Most people with at least two functioning brain cells consider it cheap Americanized imitation Mexican food.
FTFY
Good morning and happy Friday everyone!
Good plan to rest! Thankfully you have the weekend too. Be forgiving of yourself and your new version of your body. Take good care of both!
I went after the movies once in high school I think. Got a pair of supreme chicken soft tacos which were fine, but nothing special. We have one not too far away, along with KFC and McDonalds. I just don’t do fast food though to speak of. Super rare and usually only if traveling and out of options. I am far far more likely to stop in a Jersey Mikes or even Wawa and get a sub.
Waiting on the light snow to melt here so I can go get my prescription. Then I can just cuddle up and find house/game projects to do for the weekend and frigid weather next week.
/Deep cleans the lounge house to be ready for the weekend. Even under the couch and chair cushions! Fills the blanket baskets with freshly laundered thick blankets, rebuilds the fire, and puts out an assortment of clean mugs and cups.
/Sets up the beverage serving buffet with fresh hot vats of coffee, hot water for tea, cocoa, creamers and toppings, and chilled juice and cold beverages. Puts a large insulated container of chicken soup with a bit of ginger and pepper flake out for Guuah on the food serving buffet. There are an assortment of muffins, bagels, and eggs/bacon/sausage/cheese to make your own breakfast sandwiches or plates. There is an obligatory little packet of bacon labeled “for pockets”.
I’ve heard their subs are pretty good, especially when compared to Subway (I used to prefer Quiznos, but their menu got so pared down that my entire family gave up on them). I miss their (Quiznos) side of chili though. Sure it isn’t anything like homemade, but I liked it more than the sammiches. If I do go to Subway I get either their meatball sub or the Italian BMT.
I can get mine delivered so long as they aren’t on the Schedule 1-4 list (i.e. controlled substances). I’m surprised you don’t opt for that, if it’s even an option for you that is.
I don’t have prescription coverage and am not paying extra for things to be delivered. My meds are inexpensive generics so paying for the Medicare prescription coverage plan would be insane. It is something like a $200 deductible + $30 a month premium, last I looked. My meds for 90 days cost me $18 with whatever my pharmacy put in for a discount code. If I get cancer or something that really requires expensive meds I will investigate it. My parents get their scripts delivered. Even their Schedule X ones.
Oh yeah, hardly any of it is low fat, but the ground beef grease seems to be what disagrees with me most. Also, I know nobody thought it was health food, but have you ever looked up the sodium content at TB? It’s astonishingly high even for fast food.
Anyway, I still like some things there, but I go there much less often than I used to. I’ve cut way back on fast food, for both health and budget reasons. And they took my favorite thing off the menu. Can’t remember its exact name, some kind of grilled chicken burrito. It wasn’t my favorite on taste alone, but it was $2 and was definitely best taste per dollar spent.
Tomorrow’s lunch will be something I am calling chili even though it’s not exactly. 2 cans beans, 1 can tomatoes with green chili, a lot of chili powder, some cumin, paprika, onion and garlic powder, cooked long enough for the flavors to blend, added some leftover pork shoulder.
Having now watched 9, I also had many questions about this.
It seems like since Arthas is dead and Sylvanas broke the Helm of Domination, we shouldn’t see the Lich King return in any form, and yet… They’ll find a way if they really want to, right? The only way I want to see is Wrath Remix.
Yeah, I think it is that. Like, only been to the nearest taco bell twice, within a year apart, and both times, ended up in hospital with food poisoning. Where never had this going to the taco bell in the city.
Trust me, this is not bad food that taste good with the nearest taco bell to me.
Ugh, kinds of reminds me of the Maccas in Yass that has become an internet meme when they have put up an advertisement somewhere along the Hume Highway.
/places out a pan of quiche I had last night.
So my biggest question, after watching all 9 of the Skywalker saga plus Rogue One, is this: why, in the Star Wars universe, is every control panel as far as possible from the thing it controls, and whenever possible, out on a ledge, at great height, and exposed to the elements as much as possible? If you took out the hero’s journey part, the entire plot of this franchise is People Trying to Access Weirdly Located Control Panels.
Dramatic effect. But yeah - there’s so much stuff in that universe that doesn’t make a bit of sense.
It’s substantial enough to merit its own (decent-sized) TVTropes subpage.
“Now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational battle station!”
“Fully operational, you say? Excuse me, sir, I’m from OSHA, and I’m afraid we’re going to have to shut this thing down until you make a few updates to the safety plan. Man, I just don’t understand how they got permitting approval for this.”
I guess I’m lucky with regard to delivery. Despite using DoorDash for deliveries, Walgreens isn’t charging me for it (I do tend to dip the driver a couple bucks though).
I wonder if that varies by state or if it’s purely because of whatever third party (if any) the pharmacy in question uses. It may be that in order to get mine delivered I have to have them actually mailed rather than the normal delivery method (DoorDash), assuming it’s allowed here in California.
Thankfully I’m one of those people with super sensitive taste buds that doesn’t need to add salt to anything other than french fries, unless I’m having seasoned fries, which I don’t need salt on. Given how much cheese is in their offerings, that’s likely where the vast majority of their sodium comes from given it’s processed cheese in most instances.
We had some mega snow drifts here in Edmonton. I had some 4 footers in my driveway and approach to the house.
Of course, Azeroth is hardly OSHA compliant either. I’m looking at you, Elevator Boss.
Can i borrow ir bob sled and maybe a snow plow our parking lot wasnt plowed this morning so were strugling with carts ugh.
I had a Taco Bell craving I gave in to yesterday. It was glorious.
I’m sure the dogs would have a blast pulling carts around the lot.
