[CS Lounge] Winter Veil Cheer - Cozy Up with Hot Cocoa

Here, have a like :+1:

Silly question, but I haven’t been able to play in a few days. Are the anniversary festivities over?

Still can’t believe it has been 20 years

Yes, they just ended this morning.

Finally getting around to seeing Red One on Prime.

Disappointed in myself that I didn’t get to it sooner, so far.

Interested to see what you think. I thought the trailer looked pretty silly but a close friend of mine really liked it.

Thanks!

Yup. Just wish I had a loaf of bread to go with it (other than regular sliced sandwich bread). But I don’t feel like trying to make bread right now and hubby doesn’t really need to be going to the store tonight.

Just about 2/3rds through right now and it’s just so fantastically campy with an element of urgency given how close to Christmas it all happens.

Chris of course is an excellent actor in most of what he does, Dwayne is expectedly type-cast but it works well in this movie.

Only downside so far is how little screen time the titular character and main antagonist have thus far. Last thing I saw Kiernan in was Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and you can definitely see that there’s quite a range in her performances.

I loved it, but I’m a sucker for a good Christmas movie with all the Santa feels.

I love JK Simmons (check out Whiplash if you haven’t seen it) so I’ll probably watch it eventually :slightly_smiling_face:

The crazy dog decided to jump in the creek when it was 17/-8 this morning. Had to walk home with small icicles on her coat.

Outsiders think it’s a forum to talk about WoW. That’s
 not really what GD is.

Fun evening. Usually I chill out in Orgrimmar in the evenings when I done everything I want to do in game for the day. On WrA the Valley of Honor is the big public RP hub.

Had some people approach Guuah and had a fun exchange. Really those are my favorite kinds of interactions: No huge lore debates, no extreme ultraviolence, just people chatting a bit. Guuah as a character tries to downplay everything instead of going “Hey I’m a time cop really”, both because messing with time things requires a subtle hand, and the Bronze Flight has always been secretive with that sort of thing. Usually.

Also leaves a lot of room for character development if characters discover what he’s really about. Been fun to play it out when it comes up.

It’s been fun trying to get back into RP. Certainly a big reason why I still play. Even if Guuah isn’t involved seeing what stories people come up with is really enjoyable.

Anyway, time for bed. Have a good night folks.

I gave a like for you.

It’s 30 per day I believe. Usually that’s more than enough, but Mirasol likes a lot of people it seems! :smiley_cat:

Also, the windstorm here seems to have knocked power out for nearly an hour. I was going to make dinner, but I may just munch on some dry stuff to let the fridge and freezer regain their normal temperatures.

Edit: And the power had gone out on me right as I was collecting a massive batch of mini carrots in Wild Arms 3’s gardening area. Now I have to sleep at the inn another twenty times (literally) and collect the carrots again because I didn’t save after sleeping like I should have. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

We have high wind warnings here. But the gusts are very rare. They did a number on the table umbrellas at work last night.
But I see there is a fire at Pacific Palisades. That area hasn’t burned in a while so it was due.

The entirety of Malibu is under warnings to prepare to evacuate. If the winds pick up in their direction, the Palisades fire could reach them in as little as ten minutes. People in the area of the current fire weren’t prepared. Streets filled with abandoned cars because the fire came down to the road and the cars had nowhere to go so the people left them and fled on foot. Given that the surrounding areas have had wind gusts of up to 86 MPH and no sign of the winds dying down anytime soon, this is likely going to get a lot worse before it gets better. They’re expecting 0% containment through at least Friday now if the winds keep up.

We got over a foot of snow last night
my best estimate is a foot and a half
and schools are still open (only a handful of closures).

I don’t even think my car would make it to the end of the street. Sometimes, I don’t get how they make decisions on which schools to close :frowning: ALL school busses are cancelled throughout the whole city though. None are running, but sure, it’s safe to drive?!?

Ugh
I might need to shovel :frowning:

Good for you! For your own health and for that of every other person with whom you come into contact. I think the vast majority of people who refuse to get vaccines fall into one of two categories: idiots or jerks.

Oh how I wish that could be beamed into LA County right now. California could sure use at least a mini-ice age right now.

In my case, because of the increase in my CellCept dosage, I’ve been warned that the vaccines simply won’t take due to my lowered immune system response. I’m literally the only one wearing a mask nearly everywhere I go sadly (N95 under normal circumstances, but I’ve got a P100 full face respirator if I have a cold so I don’t give it to others while maintaining protection for myself).

While it’s sadly true most don’t care about others at this point, some of us don’t have the option of not caring. And since I’m not 60+ I’m being denied the RSV vaccine despite having status as being immunocompromised. Yay US healthcare.
