[CS Lounge] Winter Veil Cheer - Cozy Up with Hot Cocoa

It has been raining here, though no flood warnings. But picked up a pretty bad summer cold from the change in weather, going from a 30C sunny whether to immediate cooler temperatures with nothing but rain.

Oh, it is the same thing here in Australia. Gotta be 60 and over to get the RSV vaccine.

You knowā€¦if a certain country joined Canada, weā€™d have to ensure all its citizens had free healthcare too  Thatā€™s also the only way that weā€™re allowed to share our snow. It stops right at the border!

Edit:

I literally just saw an imageā€¦my heart goes out to everyone there :frowning:

Those fires does look very horrifying.

Mine would do that, given the chance. When weā€™re walking, sheā€™s on a 4ā€™ leash, though, so she ā€œcanā€™tā€ get away.
When I was in Missouri, the big dog park (on a small lake) had to close the lake portion of the play areas because dogs would get out on the ice and fall through the ice; fire rescue to the scene for a dog rescue - over and over.

Just like Trade chat.

One of my co-workers lives in Eastvale, I think. She was saying they might lose power today and was making plans to work on battery backups (her internet is on a UPS, and has a bunch of other UPSes, apparently).

Hope you feel better soon.

Could not sleep last night until well after 3am. ARGH. I slept late as a result. I love that my kitties do not wake me up. They are trained not to.

/tidies up the lounge, sets out a plethora of perfectly hot coffee vats, hot water and assorted teas, cocoa, marshmallows, a milk steamer & frother. Also sets out nice cold drinks too, bubble tea, juice, cold coffee, etc. Fruit, muffins, bagels, and some fresh crusty bread for toast are over there. Jam is home made blackberry.

:coffee: :teapot: :bubble_tea: :apple: :tangerine: :bread:

I SHOULD be because that is my major stress relief but I have not even researched it yet. Holidays and life just sort of got in the way. Maybe I will check out the info today.

Here it is still cold but not as cold, and the sun is out, so even though itā€™s below freezing, surfaces are warming up enough to start melting some of the snow and ice. The ice-coated trees are so pretty in the sun, but I think most of that will fall off today. The little birds are out sitting on the trees and power lines, chirping and floofing out all their little floofs to stay warm. I definitely have some kind of cold or something too. Left work early cause I feel lousy. Day off tomorrow so I can work on Siren Isle and Darkmoon Faire. Finally got my Felcycle yesterday!

I mostly didnā€™t let mine in the bedroom, which kept them from walking me up. Or if I did wake up, it was probably from A Noise that indicated A Situation that needed attention anyway. Things being knocked over and such.

It took me over a year, but I stopped responding to any and all intentional interactions from them related to getting me up. Noises, knocking things down, getting into stuff, etc. They would try to make me get up, assuming that up meant food.

I broke that connection with dedicated ignoring, then when I did get up, I did not straight away feed them. I checked the forums and did a few house things. They get fed when they are quiet and not begging.

So, now they donā€™t pester which is nice esp if I donā€™t feel good and need to sleep. They may wait quietly and stare, but that does not wake me up.

My cat has an entire basement as his room. Itā€™s a walk-out basement with french doors, a window, a bathroom where his litter boxes are, along with his own couch, recliner, cat tree, toys, water fountainā€¦ the little guy has a better set up than my own room.

So he has to be locked down there for the night. Because even though he knows he doesnā€™t get fed until around 6:30amā€¦ at 3am, he will begin pestering us by jumping on our stomachs in bed, pawing our faces, walking on our faces, etc.

Now, at around 11pm, he comes and asks for food by sitting and staring. When we go to get his food ball, he starts going downstairs, because thatā€™s bedtime.

I can never move out of this house and into one without a finished basement like that.

Afternoon folks.

Officially confirmed: Iā€™m going back Monday morning.

Iā€™m honestly surprised Iā€™m making the step back to work. There was a long while where I was thinking Iā€™d be stuck just being bed ridden and such forever.

Less bright news, more snow come Friday. We donā€™t need more. We still have plenty, thank you Mother Nature.

I feel left out. We havenā€™t had to shovel snow yet this season.

Decided I needed to go into the clinic as well to see if I had the flu and if so, get meds for it.

And yup, I have the flu same as hubby. It seems to be making quite the rounds in our area - the walk-in clinic saw 80 patients with it yesterday.

So got 2 shots and a whole bunch of meds to take. Now we are in isolation and just staying hydrated and resting as needed.

When this is over, will definitely be staying masked when I have to venture out into the world.

Keep a bottle of hand sanitizer in your car. As soon as you get in after shopping, use it! It seems to help us not get all germy.

Oh I have it in my purse at all times and have used it as much as I can remember. We just got lax with protecting ourselves. From now on hubby will stay in the car while I do therapy, since the seating area is very small. Back to being masked when out with crowds as well.

Good plan. Make sure you have something easy made up to eat too. Soups, baked dish or something, even a breakfast bake/dish. Store bought lasagna baked in an oven works in a pinch!
