Be excellent and party on Dude!
Reminds me of the show Hellās Kitchen were the chefs have to see all the wasted food in the trash bins on the following day.
Itās 58, raining with the occasional rumble of thunder. Need to have the lights on itās so dark. Iāve cleaned as much as I care to in the gloom. I think I will slice up some meat for jerky.
Dinner will be Chicken soup with maybe a side of garlic bread. Garlic kills germs they say.
Now the game is down til 4 for me. I guess I didnāt want to play anyways. It would have been nice if they gave us a new short story to watch while we wait.
Back to the kitchen sigh
Thatās the last bit of my set-up thatās due for replacement/upgrade. Itās just a $100 OfficeMax special. My ex-wife gave me grief for getting āleatherā instead of cloth, but itās held up really well, all things considered. Iāve been browsing gaming chairs, but not seriously; just trying to get a feel of the comfort-to-cost ratio.
I got a Lazy Boy big and tall from Staples. I love it. It is leather so it can get warm. Still, itās a good chair.
I recommend checking out some commercial office supply stores. You may be able to get a deal on something suited for a professional environment.
Also, with offices closing down, sometimes their chairs show up on Craigslist, auctions etc. Mine used to belong to Pixar and had a 10 year warranty so when I discovered it had a bad gas cylinder, I had it repaired inside 24 hours.
Iām sure we all would agree that more tolerance and less division would be an improvement, but then Iām not sure everybody would even agree what that would mean.
When I sit on my front porch in the evening I can see at least four āBLMā lawn signs, and five American flags, with both often being on the same house; if I drive around the block I see many more of each as well as some rainbow flags.
We once went out to a more rural area to visit a friend who has a blueberry farm, thatās the first time I actually saw a MAGA sign in real life.
So thatās the sort of neighborhood where I happen to live, Iām sure mindsets only a few miles in either direction arenāt the same. Itās depressing when friends and relatives canāt even agree on what constitutes reality. This year is so screwed up in so many ways, and itās really only the the finally of a depressing multi-year journey.
I read all of the novels (I read a lot and donāt do movies or TV adaptations much) but the original Dune movie may have been meant for me or the small audience that I represent; but as a commercial release, it was a travesty.
It had good cinematography, fine special effects for itās time, and adequate to good acting. BUT; it was over ambitious and depended on the viewer having read the novels, and if you hadnāt read the novels there is no way you could have followed the story watching the final theatrical release. So, it bombed.
Iām hopeful their will finally be a good cinematic version of the story.
Uh oh!
Some people spotted something in the credits of Mulan that are making them try to encourage a boycott.
Details are not forum safe.
Thereāve been boycott attempts already, but Iām not sure how well theyāve panned out. I hear itās still going strong.
Primarily because of the main actressā political views.

Iām in the middle of fasting for lab work. What do I do? I look at cooking recipesā¦
Cheesy Baked Onions
- 1 medium onion
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
-
Slice onion and separate into rings; place in a greased 1-qt. baking dish and set aside. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the flour and salt until smooth. Gradually add milk; bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook and stir for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in cheese until melted.
-
Pour over onions. Bake, uncovered, at 350Ā° for 45-50 minutes or until onions are tender and cheese is browned.
Almost time to celebrate!
I was texted last night that the owner of the converted garage I looked at about a week ago accepted me.
My dad will be leaving at midnight tonight to drive down and help me move. ~7-8 hour drive. He will head right back up after helping me move.
One of my uncleās will also help.
I wonāt be able to sign the lease until the day I move in.
I donāt think that I will be able to sleep tonight.
That is great to hear, glad you were able to find a place.
I understand that all too well. The excitement (or trepidation) of what is to come had led to many sleepless nights for me.
Temperature dropped again, so Iām working in a sweater-hoodie trying to be warm enough. Iām weird and prefer around 81-83F (28C), and enjoy the heat weāve been having, where typical office icebox temps of 68-72F (20-22C) are too chilly.
Took a silly video out my window: https://imgur.com/a/e13TrDG
They do this occasionally, and my guess is theyāre training exercises.
And speaking of video out window: https://window-swap.com/window
Ten minute videos taken from windows around the world. Kind of a neat way to āsee the worldā while stuck at home. (WARNING: It can be addictive. )
So Iāve booked the last week of October off of work now so I can play Shadowlands and level my character(s).
Iām going to try and gear my main as quickly as possible since my guild is planning on doing Mythic+ and raiding as soon as we are able to!
Oop. Looks like they reintroduced the ability to unlike posts. Found that out by mistakeā¦
Big surprise!
I asked MB if I could eat BB tomorrow in celebration. If everything works out. I even said I would share with my Minions.
She said āof courseā
Didnāt expect her to play along but Iāll take it!
Should I wrap her in bacon?
Drizzle with butter?
Attach skies to her chair and shove her down an ice cream slope?
I was gona say give her a spa day but under the circumstance maybe not.
I thought about turning up the temp on the spa.
