Have you been to Hopdoddy, out of curiosity?
No, never been there.
You should. Their fries are meh, but the burgers are the best that I’ve ever had. There’s one right next door to Dragon’s Lair.
i.e.
Inn and Out
Burgers and pizza with too much on it is a kitchen sink, or at best, a hot mess.
Keep it Simple
My burger place of choice is Galaxy Bar and Grill in Killeen. The owner is a Star Wars nut and the place is filled with Star War memorabilia
Oh snap, I’ll have to stop there when I get a chance when game store hopping.
I somehow imagine growing up with that and not bothering to read, because I’d “just wait till dad gives the spoilers”.
Personally, I’ve never had issues with spoilers, because I’m so much more about the journey - how did they get there. If the book isn’t worth reading up until that point, I wouldn’t get there anyway. (Lesson learned reading Gone With the Wind when I was a teen - there are far worse things than not finishing a book. =P)
I’ve never heard of that kind of combo before but my taste buds are interested…
My burger joint of choice is Whataburger*, since I’m not exactly the richest guy around. Hopdoddy is an expensive treat.

Probably the exact sort of burger being discussed here. What can I say, I have no taste.
I see what you did there.
And you won’t regret it. Just get there early-ish to avoid the line that goes out the door!
Not so much spoilers as misdirection; and, other than the wife, none were old enough to read yet at the time.
Getting wild up here in the burger fandom, I see.
I personally love that mushroom swiss burger from whatabuger!
I do too, but I love the regular whataburger with jalapenos and ketchup (no lettuce pls) so much more that I never order it.
We have Krystal here. I really do NOT like their burgers at all. They are also those little square patties smothered in onions. Their little chicken sandwich is eatable. Their apple pies were good though.
When we lived in Statesboro while attending GSU, there was an amazing locally owned burger joint (Bites) that had the best burgers I’ve ever eaten.
Statesboro also had amazing Mexican food restaurants (well x3 of the same one, lol) and they would always be packed to the hilt with people. The food there was amazing. The people were great and the bar was good as well. Though admittedly, a good bar in a college town is usually a very hopping place.
Can ya tell I’m hungry? =)
If I felt better and it wasn’t so late, I might just consider a drive up there – even if it is 100 miles north, lol.
But alas, think I will just eat some leftovers from last night’s dinner.
Whataburger really had a glow-up from when I was a kid. Those mushroom and swiss burgers are practically luxury on a late-night trip back from grocery shopping.
One thing’s for sure: I’m very hungry now. Thanks everyone.
Crispy fried onions are teh only onions i like on my burger raw onions blech samething with tomatoes and mushrooms.
Roux, 1. Me, 0.
Drat.
Burgers may have been a better idea.
agreed. whenever i get a cheeseburger or big mac from micky d’s, or a whopper from BK, i try to remember to tell them “no onions” on it.
BK kinda bugs me, cause 1. they charge you to add cheese to the whopper, and 2. their burgers have shrunk in recent years. .-.
i agree with 2 of the 4 things…jalapenos is something i’m not particularly fond of, but then again, i’m not too big of spicy food. .-.
/hugs
i’m a bit weird when it comes to that. single/dbl cheeseburgers from DQ come with ketchup, mustard and pickles and they’re really good. (my mouth is watering just thinking of them. >.<)
i don’t think McD’s does that, though BK does for their bacon dbl cheese…Wendy’s does add ketchup to their baconator…though i ALWAYS get it with tomatoes.
i find it hilarious how one mention of White Castle, spawns a discussion on what a good burger needs. XD
edit: i’ve got “Into The Unknown” in my head atm, and…i don’t mind it. .-.
Actually, fresh made White Castle sliders are completely different from the frozen ones. They do come with pickles and with different toppings like chili and peppers. You will have to put on your own mustard and ketchup. But, the fresh ones are much better than what you can get frozen.
I don’t like ketchup on most things. It’s far too strong a taste. It hides subtle flavours and disguises bad ones.
