Watching the news while I wait to make dinner. Australia is so dry. I wish we could send some water since our Great Lakes are 30 inches over normal. We are awash here. Anybody got a big bucket and an airplane?
A problem of our current compartmentalized world reality, nobody actually understands anyone else’s reality. We no longer have a common culture, just an interactive matrix of sub-cultures. And the inevitable conflicts between the conflicting views of the world of those sub-cultures.
Should scare the Gnomes too
I picked up a book series again, I stopped reading midway through this series, was just too busy and forgot. Anyway my friend finished the book series, and I told him how I was getting back into it. Then he spoiled what happens to the main character! Hopefully he was just pulling my leg.
What series?
The Witcher! I fell in love with the books 2 years ago, I slammed through the first 2, (book 1 is split into 2 books). So technically 3! I got more then half way through the 3rd(technically 4th) , but due to IRL I forgotten about the series.
He was probably pulling my leg since I told him someone on here spoiled the new Star Wars! If he was he’s a good actor lol.
I read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings to each of my children (and my wife actually) and each time when one of them commented on a part being sad or scary I said “wait for the part where Gandalf dies”, then later, “just wait till when Frodo is killed by the spider and Sam has to go on alone”.
i once got a frozen one because we were at a PX and it was either that or don’t eat anything until the lodge served breakfast and i have nightmares when i go to bed hungry but yea i should have gone hungry because my tummy
A burger loaded with onions is a bad burger. White Castle is an onion sandwich with meat.
If the meat doesn’t taste great on it’s own then the burger is bad, period.
No.
Onions and burgers are a great pairing, along with pickles, tomatoes, and jalapeno peppers.
That’s masking the meat
I think the point being that the meat itself should be of a quality that still tastes good without the condiments. Not that you couldn’t/wouldn’t add them. Only that if the condiments are the source of the flavor, that isn’t really a good burger.
I can’t speak for White Castle, I’ve never had it.
The toppings and condiments should compliment a good burger, not disguise a bad one.
All this talk of onions and burgers… Man, if I wasn’t already full I would want an onion burger so bad right now. The best onion burger I have ever had was at a diner in a small town while on a road trip. I can’t remember what town it was in or the name of the diner, but I sure do remember that burger…
~ Looks around at people not caring about random onion burgers and slinks away~
Don’t mind me… I was never here.
Onions and burgers are a great pairing; along with your choices of cheese, bacon, kosher dill pickles, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers and/or mustard. But if you can’t still taste the burger through it, it wasn’t a good burger to start with and it’s all wasted.
Um … yes that ^
I maintain that it’s not a burger without at least ketchup and mustard, good meat or bad.
…speaking of good hamburger meat, I need to swing by Hopdoddy again. It’s been a few months.
My favorite beurger is a plain patty, with cream cheese and raspberry chipotle bbq sauce on a onion roll.
That’s toppings that I’ve never heard of before, that’s for sure!
hehehe, it’s quite tasty
